Shoplifting – Arrested

Offices responded to a report of a shoplifting incident. The witness, a loss prevention agent, reported that the suspect was observed holding a plastic bag filled with a large quantity of store merchandise while wearing a jacket that still had store security sensors attached to it. The suspect attempted to exit the store without paying for the merchandise and was detained. A search of the suspect revealed that he was holding onto $741.00 of merchandise. The suspect provided the officer his name and birth date but did not have personal property that identified him. The suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a theft. The victim stated that the suspect, an ex-boyfriend, was next to her new vehicle and upset because the victim had not been spending enough time with him. The victim borrowed her roommate’s vehicle and offered to give the suspect a ride in an effort to get him away from her residence. During the ride, an argument ensued and the suspect stole the victim’s keys before fleeing the vehicle. Later that night, the victim had her vehicle was stolen.
