Arson – Assault – Battery on a Police Officer – Arrested

Sloat Blvd & 47th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a suspect attempting start a fire while onboard a MUNI bus. The victim reported that he heard the noise of a lighter being started up right behind him right before the suspect began yelling obscenities at no particular person. The victim then realized that the suspect was trying to light his pants on fire. A witness reported that he observed the victim board the bus with his back turned to the suspect. The witness then confirmed that the suspect was yelling obscenities at the rest of the bus and then tried to light the victim’s pants on fire. The witness yelled at the suspect and called the police while the suspect left the bus. Responding officers located and detained the suspect, despite the suspect being uncooperative in addition to kicking and spitting on the officers. The suspect was transported to county jail and  was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a person that was cutting his own wrist. Responding officers arrived at the location and attempted to make contact at the apartment but there was no answer. Shortly after, observing that there was smoke coming from inside the building, the officers broke down the door in an attempt to see if any one was inside the building but the situation as too intense to proceed into the apartment. SFFD extinguished the fire but was unable to locate anyone inside the apartment. Later, a SFFD unit observed the suspect sitting on a nearby suspect and contacted the SFPD. The officers responded to the location and made contact with the suspect, who stated that he was depressed and set his apartment on fire. The suspect was transported to SFGH for a mental evaluation and was then later arrested.

Officers responded to a domestic violence incident. The victim reported that she and the suspect, her boyfriend, had an argument because he had not fed their toddler. During the argument, the suspect grabbed the victim while she was holding on to their toddler and would not let her walk away. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
