Officers responded to a report of a fire. The witness reported that an unknown suspect set fire to the toilet paper in the  bathroom at the library.  SFFD successfully extinguished the fire.  

Driving While Intoxicated – Vehicle Collision – Arrested

19th Ave & Eucalyptus Dr
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision. Responding officers observed that a solo vehicle had struck a parked vehicle. While conducting the investigation, the officers detected a moderate odor of alcoholic beverage on the suspect’s breath. The driver failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the hospital for further testing. Later, the driver was arrested.

Shoplifting – Warrant Arrest – Check Fraud – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting incident. Store security reported that the suspect was observed removing a pair of sweat pants from a store rack and balling them up before walking out of the store without paying. Responding officers searched the suspect and located multiple items that belonged to other people in the suspect’s possession. The suspect also had numerous checks from different people. A computer check revealed that the suspect had two warrants for his arrest. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Carjacking

Officer responded to a report of a carjacking incident. The victim reported that she was unloading her vehicle when three suspects approached her while brandishing a knife and demanded her car. One of the suspects grabbed the key from victim’s hands while the victim ran away. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

No driver’s License Issued – Possession of Burglary Tools – Cited

A sergeant observed two subjects who were suspiciously inspecting numerous vehicles. While one suspect drove the vehicle, the second suspect would exit and scrutinize several vehicles on foot before returning to the vehicle. The vehicle then moved forward for a short distance before the second suspect again exited the vehicle. After several cycles of this activity, the suspects were detained and questioned. A computer check on the driver revealed that he did not have a driver’s license. Officers also located a rescue tool, which is also commonly used to commit vehicle burglaries. After further investigation, the subjects were cited.

Shoplifting – Probation Violation – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody. A witness reported that he was shopping in the store and observed the suspect shoplifting. The witness attempted to detain the suspect but after a scuffle, the witness was injured. An employee also observed the shoplifting and attempted to retrieve the merchandise but the suspect immediately fled. A second witness also observed the incident and was successful in detaining the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Robbery with a Firearm – Warrant Arrest – Arrested

Santa Rosa Police
SIT members completed an investigation into a robbery incident that occured several days earlier by identifying the suspect involved and issuing an arrest warrant. Information was received from the Santa Rosa Police department that the suspect was apprehended in the back of a u-haul truck. The SIT members were able to locate additional evidence linking the suspect to two other, separate, robberies. The suspect was arrested.
