Driving While Intoxicated – Vehicle Collision – Cited

Lincoln Way & 21st Ave
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision. Responding officers arrived and observed that a vehicle had rear ended into parked vehicle. The driver reported that he was driving when he noticed that there was someone on top of his vehicle with a knife. The driver stated that the person fell off his vehicle and he crashed into the parked vehicle to avoid hitting the fallen person. The driver also kept pacing and changing his direction every few steps while talking to the officers and took his jacket off, despite the cold and foggy temperature of the early morning. Due to an odor of alcoholic beverages emanated from the driver, multiple tests were administered  to the driver which he failed. The driver was determined to possibly be under the influence of alcohol and narcotics and was transported to the hospital and cited.

Officers responded to a report of a house damaged by a bullet. The victim reported that he was in bed when he heard a loud crash and then a clicking sound on the floor. The victim investigated and found a hole in his window and located a bullet on the floor. The victim stated that he was not concerned about the incident.  

Aided Case

Lobos St & Capitol Ave
Officers responded to a report of an injured person. Responding officers arrived at the location and observed a subject bleeding from his face and hands with scorched marks also on his hands. The victim declined to tell the officers what had happened but it is believed that the subject may have been playing with illegal fireworks and one had exploded in his hands. The subject was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

1400 20th Ave
Officer responded to a report of a suspect burning something. Responding officers arrived at the location and observed the suspect, who appeared intoxicated, leaning over a pile of burnt material. The officers made contact with the suspect and attempted to question him, despite the suspect’s hostility. The suspect stated that he had burnt toilet paper because he was allowed to do so when he lived on a farm. The suspect was cited for arson but the citation was torn up by the suspect before he returned to his garage and closed the door on the officers.
