Vehicle Violation – No Driver’s License Issued – Cited

19th Ave & Denslowe Dr
A sergeant was conducting traffic speed enforcement when he observed a vehicle traveling approximately 50-55 mph. The sergeant used his LIDAR and confirmed that the vehicle was traveling at 52 mph. The sergeant conducted a traffic stop and a check of the driver revealed that his license had been expired since February 2017. The driver was cited.

Fire

400 Orizaba Ave
Officers responded to a report of a fire. The witness reported that she heard some noises directly outside of her house and went to investigate. The woman stated that she observed the suspect running away and that smoke was curling up from several shrubs next to her house. The witness contacted the SFFD, who discovered a used roman candle among the shrubs.  

Battery

300 Holloway Ave
Officers responded to a report of a battery between roommates. Both parties told the officers that there had been ongoing issues between them. They said that they started having heated words and both of them threw water at each other. Both parties admitted that they both started fighting the other, but both also refused to press charges against the other.

700 Irving St
Officers responded to closed Jamba Juice regarding a suspect who was angrily banging on the door and shouting profanities at the witness for her to open the door. Responding officers arrived after the suspect had walked away but were successful in locating him. After making contact, the suspect responded that there was a misunderstanding with the witness and that he had only wanted to say “hi” to her. When speaking with the suspect, the officers observed that he had multiple symptoms of being intoxicated. The officers conducted a computer check after obtaining the suspect’s identification. Shortly after, the identification was placed on top of a nearby newspaper stand and the suspect notified of it’s location while the officers walked back to their vehicle. The suspect, however, came up to their vehicle and angrily banged on the window multiple times. The officers detained the suspect and placed him in handcuffs, despite the suspect’s refusal to comply with orders. While transporting the suspect, he began spitting at the officers. The suspect was later cited.
