Arson of a Vehicle

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle on fire. Responding officers arrived while SFFD was successfully putting out a Honda Ridgeline that was on fire. SFFD will continue to investigate this incident. 

Vehicle Violation – Suspended Driver’s License – Cited

19th Ave & Denslowe Dr

Officers were conducting traffic speed enforcement and observed a vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that her license had been suspended. However, the license allowed the driver to drive back and forth for work, but the driver was unable to prove she was going to or returning from work. The driver was cited.

Violation of Restraining Order – Arrested

22nd Ave & Wawona St
Officers responded to a report of a restraining order violation. The witness stated that the suspect was observed carrying a stick, which was in direct violation of a restraining order. Responding officers located the suspect, who was holding on to a brown stick and was highly agitated. A computer check confirmed that the restraining order was in violation and the suspect was arrested. 

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Probation Violation – Arrested

19th Ave & Lincoln Way
Officers responded to a report of a person with a gun on a MUNI coach. The witness, the bus driver, stated that the suspect did not pay while getting on the bus along with another passenger and was then observed removing an item from his waist band after he had gotten on the bus. The witness believed that the item looked like a gun and contacted the police. The witness then waited for the police with the coach doors closed. Shortly after, the suspect requested that the witness open the doors so he could leave. Responding officers arrived as the suspect was speaking to the witness and while the suspect was holding a large metal pipe, with both ends wrapped in black tape. A computer check revealed that the suspect was prohibited from having any type of item that could be used as a weapon. The officers determined that the pipe, which the suspect stated was not his but he found it, could be used as a weapon and arrested the suspect. The suspect was also charged for refusing to pay the bus fare.
