Vehicle Violation – No License Issued – Cited

TNT plain clothes officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on the transit/taxi and right turn only lane. The vehicle continued to travel west and also failed to stop at posted stop signs. The officers made contact with a marked patrol unit and requested that they do a traffic stop on the vehicle. A computer check on the driver revealed that his license had been expired since 2007. The driver was also on probation and had been cited three times previously for driving without a license. The driver was cited and his vehicle towed.

Package theft – Burglary – Possession of Stolen Property – Arrested

Officers were flagged down by a witness who told them that a suspect had just stolen a package. The officers located and observed the suspect carrying a large brown box. When the officers caught up to the suspect and made contact, he had already placed the box several feet away from himself.  The officers located the box and were informed by the victim that the package was on top of a 19 step staircase, which the suspect had climb to take the box. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a suspect acting suspiciously around several vehicles. Responding officers made contact with the US Park Police, who had already detained a suspect matching the description given. Park Police reported that they had observed the same suspect swing a metal rod at passing vehicles earlier. The officers inspected the rod and observed that it had a sharp tip, which is commonly used for breaking windows. However, a search revealed that there were no broken windows nearby. Officers searched the suspect and located a substance that was later tested to be methamphetamine. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
