Officers responded to a report of a witness seeing a gun at the suspect’s waistband, when he adjusted his sweatshirt. Responding officers searched and located the suspect, who was detained and searched without incident. The gun was located, which was later determined to be a starter pistol which was meant to shoot blanks. The search also revealed two cellular phones, both iPhone 8s, in addition to several bags of marijuana packaged to be sold and prescription medication.
During the interview with the suspect, the officers received information that the suspect also matched the description given for a previous robbery, in which an iPhone 8 was stolen. A serial number check of the stolen iPhone 8 was then matched to one of the phones that the suspect had in his possession. The victim was contacted and a positive cold show was conducted. Because the suspect was a juvenile, he was cited and then released.
