Traffic Violation – Suspended Driver’s License – Cited

Sunset Blvd & Judah St
Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle had also failed to make a complete stop at a red light before making a right turn. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that his license had been suspended and that he had been previously cited for driving on a suspended license. The driver was cited and his vehicle towed.

17th Ave & Noriega St
Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle failing to make a complete stop at a posted stop sign. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that his license had been suspended. The driver was cited.

Driving While Intoxicated – Arrested

Sloat Blvd & 34th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision. Responding officers arrived at the location while Park Rangers and medical personnel were assisting an unconscious driver out of a vehicle. The first party stated that he was driving along when the second party’s vehicle rear ended his vehicle which caused it to bounce off and hit a nearby light pole. The officers made contact with the second party and immediately observed a light odor of an alcohol on the driver’s breath as well as an open container of vodka inside his vehicle. However, due to his injuries, the driver was transported to SFGH before he was questioned. At SFGH, the driver also submit to a blood test. The driver will be arrested after being cleared by the doctors.

The victim, a MUNI bus driver, reported that he was driving his bus when two suspects started yelling at him because he did not stop for them to exit at their stop. The victim stopped the bus at the next stop and both suspects spat at him before exiting the bus.

Reckless Driving – Traffic Violation – Cited

Taraval St & Wawona St
Officers were on patrol and observed a driver, who was unbalanced, getting into a vehicle which did not have a license plate. The vehicle also did not display any other indication that it was recently purchased. The driver then drove down Taraval Street and narrowly missed a collision with oncoming traffic after crossing over a double solid yellow line. The driver then proceeded to pass numerous vehicles that were stopped at a stop sign and made a left turn on 19th Avenue against a red light. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check revealed that the vehicle had not been registered since 2016. The driver also appeared to have some kind of medical conditions. The driver was cited and released to medics. 

Assault – Arrested

9th Ave & Irving St
Officers responded to a report of a mentally disturbed person. The witness reported that the suspect had hit an elderly lady and was currently being detained by bystanders. Responding officers located the suspect, who was observed to be in an altered mental state. With the help of bystanders, the suspect was placed into handcuffs. One victim reported that he was standing on the corner when he was punched in the back of his head by the suspect. The elderly victim was confused and reported that she did not know what had happened and had lost consciousness during the incident. The elderly victim was also observed with a laceration at the back of her head. The witness confirmed that the suspect had punched the first victim and also reported that she observed the suspect running around the area attempting to open car doors as well as kicking garbage cans. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
