Battery – Vandalism – Cited

Taraval St & 32nd Ave
Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim reported that he was walking when he yelled at somebody across the street. The suspect, who had been walking in front of the victim, took offense to the yelling and believed that it was directed at him. An argument ensued and the suspect punched the victim’s face, causing the victim’s glasses to fall off and on to the ground. The suspect the stepped on the glasses and walked away. Responding officers located the suspect and made contact. The suspect responded that the victim had made a comment about his girlfriend which led to the argument. However, the denied punching the victim or stepping on the glasses. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.

Assault

Officers responded to McDonalds to a report of an assault. The victim stated that the suspect had been inside the bathroom for a long time and the victim knocked on the bathroom door and eventually, the suspect left the bathroom. The victim proceeded to use the bathroom before picking up his order. While the victim was getting his food order, the suspect approached and started yelling and punching the victim before immediately leaving.

Officers responded to a report of an assault. The witnesses reported that they were waiting for a taxi on a street corner when they saw a male and female suspect punching and kicking the victim, who was lying on the sidewalk. The witnesses pushed the suspects away and the suspects immediately fled the area. One of the witnesses reported that they had also been assaulted while attempting to assist the victim.

Officers responded to a stabbing incident. Responding officers arrived at the location and was approached by the victim, who was agitated and yelling obscenities. Multiple witnesses were also in the area while the suspect was sitting inside his vehicle. The officers requested that the victim sit on a nearby bench while the medics attended to his treatment but the victim refused and became even more irate. A witness reported that the suspect had reversed his vehicle into the parking lot and almost hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian hit the vehicle with his hand in an attempt to notify the suspect that he was close by the vehicle. While there were no damages to the vehicle, the suspect angrily exited the vehicle and confronted the pedestrian with a knife. The victim intervened and attempted to grab the suspect’s hand to take away the knife but was cut during the struggle and punched in the face by the suspect.  The officers made contact with the suspect and requested that he exit the vehicle and attempted to place the suspect in custody but the suspect refused to comply as instructed and resisted obeying lawful orders. After a struggle, the suspect was successfully handcuffed. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a theft. The victim reported that his property, which had been sitting on a bench at the gym, had been stolen. Responding officers located a suspect matching the description given but the suspect denied stealing the items and stated that he was a friend of the suspect. The victim confirmed that the person the officers had detained did not steal his property but reported that the person had purposely delayed the victim from stopping and catching the suspect who had stolen his property. This also allowed the suspect to flee the area with the stolen property.  After further investigation, the suspect was cited.
