Attempted Shoplifting – Warrant Arrest

Lee Ave & Ocean Ave
Officers responded to Target regarding an incident of attempted shoplifting. The suspect, with a known history, was observed entering the store carrying two empty bags. The suspect then took items of clothing off the store shelves and placed them into the bags. The suspect attempted to leave the store but store employees successfully retrieved the stolen items. Responding officers located the suspect and a computer check on him revealed that he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a fire, which was successfully extinguished by SFFD. The fire inspectors reported that they located two separate fires with suspicious organs but there was no damages to the surrounding structure. 

Traffic Violation – No Driver’s License – Cited

Lincoln Way & 45th Ave
Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle that had failed to make a stop at a posted stop sign. The officers noted that the vehicle did not attempt to slow down and crossed the intersection at an estimated 35 mph. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed the driver only had an interim license.  The driver was cited.

Fire Report

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle on fire. The victim stated that he had recently worked on his vehicle and that the vehicle had started without any problems but then started smoking and caught on fire. 

Driving while under the Influence – Arrested
12:45 am
16th Ave & Ortega St
Officers were on patrol and about to cross an intersection after making a stop at the stop sign when a vehicle sped up to and through the intersection without stopping. The officers observed that they would have been a collision if they had proceeded into the intersection after their stop. The officers followed the vehicle which ran a second stop sign and strike a parked vehicle shortly afterwards. The officers assisted the driver out of the vehicle and determined that the driver was under the influence of drugs after attempting to speak with him. The officers searched the driver and located marijuana his pocket. After failing several tests, the driver was arrested.
