Assault

Officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported that the suspect approached her outside of a 7-11 store and threw a half empty can of beer at her. The suspect then produced a baseball bat and attempted to strike the victim but a second victim stood between them and was hit instead. The suspect then fled the area. The victim stated that she knows the suspect and believes that the suspect had an argument with her boyfriend.

Officers were on patrol and observed a driver who was holding a cell phone to her face while she drove by their vehicle. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that her license had been suspended and that the driver also had a warrant, out of Mendocino County, for her arrest. The driver stated that she had been using the phone to talk to a friend. The driver was arrested.
