Fire

Officers responded to a report of a fire in progress, which was successfully extinguished by the SFFD. The SFFD reported that the incident did not seem suspicious in nature but their arson unit will conduct an investigation.  

Assault – Arrested

600 Palmetto Ave
Officers responded to a report an assault. Responding officers located the suspect and detained him. A witness stated that the suspect, a nephew, occasionally stayed at their house and that the suspect used drugs due to his mood swings. Earlier in the day, the suspect confronted the victim about touching his clothing, to which the victim denied having done so. The suspect grew angry, held up a lighter and sprayed an unknown liquid on to the victim. The victim struggled with the suspect, causing a injury to the victim by the can containing the unknown liquid. The suspect then used the can to strike the victim’s temple before the victim walked away from the struggle. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
