Traffic Violation – No Driver’s License Issued – Cited

Sunset Blvd & Ocean Ave
Officers were conducting speed enforcement, using LIDAR, on Sunset Ave and observed a vehicle traveling approximately 43 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that he did not have a valid license. The driver was cited.
Assault – Animal Cruelty – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported that they were driving when the suspect, in another vehicle, opened the driver’s side door and two small dogs, on a leash and harness, ran out of the vehicle. The victim was unable to stop her car in time and struck one of the dogs. The victim stopped her vehicle and the suspect ran up to the victim while yelling and screaming at her. The victim attempted to call the police but the suspect punched the victim approximately 10 times before pinning the victim against the vehicle door and slammed it against her multiple times. The suspect then picked up the unhurt dog and swung the dog, from left to right, and hitting the victim with it. The suspect denied hitting the victim. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
