Burglary of a Safe – Arrested
3:23 am
3200 20th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in Stonestown Galleria; three suspects had been observed rolling out a safe on a cart before leaving in a vehicle. While looking through a security monitory, the witness (a security employee) observed two suspects walking through a mall corridor and exiting the corridor. The two suspects then reappeared, pushing a safe along with a third suspect. The witness stated that the suspects had pried open the back doors to a store and obtained the safe, which they then wheeled it out into the parking lot on a cart. However, the suspects were unable to put the safe into their vehicle and left it in the parking lot before fleeing in their vehicle.

Responding officers located the vehicle several blocks away and conducted a felony traffic stop. Two of the suspects, the passengers, exited the vehicle without incident. The third suspect, the driver, refused to exit the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located the crowbar which was used to break into the store and clothing which matched what the suspects were wearing on the security camera’s video. A computer check revealed that one of the suspect was on probation. The three suspects were arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting incident and that the suspect was leaving in a vehicle. Responding officers located the vehicle, which was about to exit the parking garage. The officers detained the driver and passenger without incident. A computer check on the vehicle revealed that it had been stolen out of San Rafael. The witness, as security employee, reported that the suspect had been observed acting suspiciously. The witness confronted the suspects and they left the store after purchasing only one of the items that they had been holding.
