Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Arrested

Junipero Serra Bld & Ocean Ave
Officers responded to a report of a possible auto break in. Responding officers located the vehicle, which was driving away from them. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the suspect continued driving before being caught behind a red light. The officers convinced the suspect to exit the vehicle without further incident. After further investigation, the officers determined that the vehicle’s keys had been forcibly taken from a parking attendant at a downtown parking garage before being stolen. It was also discovered that the suspect had trespassed on to a property on Lunado Ct. The suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim reported that he was playing basketball when he passed the ball to another teammate when he accidentally hit the suspect, who happened to be too close, in the face. The suspect then punched the victim in the face. The suspect responded that the victim had hit him in the face while playing basketball but did not offer a response when he confronted the victim. The suspect felt disrespected by the lack of an apology and punched the victim. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.

Robbery

Officers responded to a robbery. The victim reported that she was seated at a café and working on her computer when she noticed the suspect watching her. The suspect suddenly stood up and grabbed her laptop before immediately fleeing the area. The victim attempted to chase after him but stopped because she was scared of getting hurt. However, a witness also observed the incident and chased after the suspect. The witness confronted the suspect and the suspect returned the stolen laptop before fleeing. 

Arson

Officers responded to a report of a fire. The witness reported that she had just stepped out of the library when she noticed that some clothes were on fire. A witness, who had called 911, reported that a suspect had been standing next to the clothes before the fire and had immediately fled the area.

Domestic Violence
One violation of a Stay Away order incident; the suspect was arrested.
