Residential Burglary Under Construction

9:30am

00 Madrone Ave

An officer responded to a residential burglary which was under construction. Upon arriving on the scene, the officer spoke with the construction supervisor. The supervisor stated he was remodeling the residence and had the doors opened overnight. When he came to the construction site the next day, he noticed the front and back doors open, with the back door lock being broken. He took a quick inventory check and noticed a spray paint tool was missing.

Burglary- Unlawful Entry (Stolen Bicycle)

1800 9th Ave

Officers responded to a burglary. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers talked to a man. The man stated when he returned from vacation, he noticed a bicycle was missing from his garage. The man shares the garage, and believes one of the other tenants inadvertently left the door open which allowed the bicycle to be taken. The police found no signs of a forced entry.

Residential Battery

1300 9th ave

Officers responded to a residence regarding a battery. Upon arriving on the scene, the officers met a man and he stated that a woman had asked him for cigarettes. When the man said no, the woman spat in the face of another patron. The other patron restrained the woman, and then went inside to wash the spit off his face. The man then stood by the woman until the police arrived. The victim of the battery declined to sign a citizen’s arrest form.

A man came into Taraval Station to report a theft from a building. The man stated he came home from a family vacation and noticed items missing from his room. He shares the house with other tenants, and found the missing items in the other tenant’s space. When questioned, the other tenant denied taking the items.

Fraud

9:30am

1500 43rd Ave

A woman responded to the Taraval Station to report a fraud. The woman looked at her bank statement and noticed a fraudulent charge. The woman did not give anyone permission to make any purchases using her account number.

Auto Recovered, Methamphetamine Offense, Stolen Property, Possession with Knowledge and Receiving

5:55am

1000 45th Ave

Officers were dispatched to a residence for a well-being check. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed a white vehicle identified as a stolen vehicle and had noticed a man sleeping in the driver’s seat. The officers approached the vehicle and the man reported himself to the officers. Since the vehicle was identified as stolen, the officers stopped the man and had discovered drugs and several burglary tools on the man. The man was arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

Death Report — Cause Unknown

10:00 am

1400 48th Avenue

Officers responded to a death report where they were met by a fire department personnel. The officers spoke with the boyfriend of the victim who also lived there. The boyfriend told the officers that his girlfriend had been sick the night before and he wanted to take her to the hospital in the morning. He slept in the living room as to not disturb her. When he awoke, he saw her in a supine position, unconscious and without a pulse.

A woman came to Taraval Station to report a fraud. The woman stated that upon checking her credit card history, she saw open credit cards under several different clothing companies. She told the officer she did not open any of these accounts nor authorize anyone to use her information to do so.

Residential Burglary — Forcible Entry

1900 45th Avenue

Officers responded to a burglary in a residential neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers were met a couple. The couple said they had left the house locked and secured earlier that day. Upon return, the couple saw that the garage door and the front door were opened. The couple told the officers that the master bedroom and second office bedroom had been ransacked. A preliminary inventory indicated several personal property were stolen.

Driving without a Valid Driver’s License

John Muir Drive and Skyline Boulevard

An officer stopped a over a vehicle without the head or tail lights on. When the officer asked the driver’s driver license, the suspect produced his license of another country. The officer asked the suspect why his lights were off. The man had told the officer that the lights were on. After checking to see if the lights were working properly, the officer did a computer check to see if a California ID card had been issued. The man was cited for not having his lights on and not having a valid driver’s license.

Hot Prowl Burglary – Unlawful Entry

Officers responded to a report of burglary and were met by a man who told the officers that he heard noises coming from his room. The man said that when he went to his room, he saw that his items were missing. The man told the officers that the door and gate leading to his room were left in the same position before he left.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2014

Malicious Mischief – Vandalism to Vehicle

2300 14th Avenue

Officers responded to the scene regarding a possible vehicle theft. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a woman who stated that as she was sitting in the living room of her home she saw 2 unknown males looking inside of cars with a flashlight. The woman heard her car alarm go off and contacted the police. When the officers arrived they checked the car and observed the rear driver’s side window smashed.

A man came to Taraval Station to report that his rear driver side window of his vehicle was broken. The man stated that he parked his vehicle in the evening and upon returning to the vehicle in the morning, he discovered that his rear driver side window was broken.

Malicious Mischief – Tire Slashing

2100 17th Avenue

Officers responded to the scene regarding vandalism to a vehicle. Upon arriving to the scene, the officers were met by a man who stated that an unknown suspect had slashed the tires of his vehicle. The man left his car parked in the evening and upon returning to the vehicle in the morning he discovered that an unknown suspect had slashed his front right tire and rear right tire.

A woman came to Taraval Station to report a fraud. The woman stated that she received a phone call from her bank regarding suspicious activity in her bank account and had met with a Bank Agent and learned that two unknown suspects had attempted to transfer funds from her account to another. The woman stated that she does not know the suspects and did not authorize them to make the transfer.

A man and a woman came to Taraval Station to report a fraud. Both persons stated that they were children-in-law of their deceased father and had hired a caretaker to provide service for their father when he was alive. When the father passed away, the caretaker confessed that she had stolen money from him.

Malicious Mischief – Street Cars/Buses

Judah Street

Officers responded to an address regarding vandalism done to a bus. While en route dispatch advised the officers that the 911 caller observed three unknown suspects spray painting along the side of a bus and their face was concealed. Upon the officers’ arrival at the scene, the bus company had advised the officers that the bus was taken out of service. The officers then responded to the location of that bus. Upon arrival to the location, the officers observed three large graffiti paints on the outside of the bus.

400 Serrano Drive

A woman came into Taraval Station to report her missing item and she stated that her daughter had left her item in the lobby area of her apartment building. The woman came back to the lobby at a later time and discovered the item was missing and did not see anyone may have taken the item.

Suspicious Occurrence

A man came into Taraval Station to report a suspicious occurrence. The man stated that this incident had been going on for a long time where he is unable to access internet through his electronic devices. He also claimed that an unknown suspect has been sending sound, electromagnetic force and unknown chemicals through electronic devices and any vehicles that he drives with. This caused him to suffer minor injuries.

Death Report – Cause Unknown

Officers responded to a residence for a medical examiner to stand by. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the fire department at the scene and reported that a man found his mother unresponsive in the kitchen. The fire department pronounced the death time of the man’s mother and the officer spoke with the man and the man stated that he last saw his mother alive in the kitchen when he left for work.

Driving without a Driver’s License

An officer responded to a street intersection regarding a non-injury accident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer observed a suspect vehicle straddling between two lanes with children not sitting in a child restraint seat. The officer effected a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The officer ran a computer check on the driver and discovered that the man has never had a license issued to him. The man was cited for driving without a license and released from the scene.

Residential Burglary

5:45 pm

100 Morningside Dr

An officer was dispatched to a residential burglary. Upon arriving on the scene the officer was met by a woman who stated upon leaving her house in the morning she secured all doors and windows. Returning home later that night, she noticed her front door had pry marks and the door jams were cracked. After a walkthrough of the house the woman determined items were missing. The responding officer determined the point of entry and exit was the front door.

An officer responded to a residential burglary. Upon arriving on the scene, the officers were met by a man. He stated when he left his in the morning secured all windows and doors. Upon his return later that night, he noticed his front door was opened and covered with pry marks. A walkthrough of the house by the man determined that several items were missing. The man gave no permission for anyone to enter his house in his absence.

Officers responded to an attempted burglary. Upon arriving on the scene, the officers were met by a man. He stated that he had left his house in the afternoon and upon his return later that night. He noticed his front door was bent and the doors frame was damaged.

Theft- Shoplifting

12:28pm

3200 20th Ave

An officer was dispatched to the scene regarding a shoplifting incident. Upon arriving on the scene, the officers were met by a loss prevention agent. The lost prevention agent stated he observed a man taking several items off the shelf and had carried them to the changing room. When the man came out of the changing room, he was no longer carrying the items. The loss prevention agent determined the man was wearing the store items. The man passed all the checkout registers and walked out the store. The loss prevention agent stopped the man outside. The man was cited at Taraval Station.

An officer responded a investigate a theft from a building. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer met with a woman who stated she left her house in the afternoon. When she returned home the next morning, she noticed her laptop was missing. The woman shares an apartment with three other roommates and believed that one of them may have taken it.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a theft incident. The woman stated that she had contacted an advertisement regarding an apartment. The landlord of the apartment requested the woman to transfer money to her to receive the keys to the apartment. The woman wired the money and she was unable to gain access to the keys. The woman had contacted the landlord and did not get a response back.

An officer responded to a vandalism incident. Upon arriving on the scene, the officer was met by a woman. She parked her vehicle in front of a local business that afternoon and when she came back to her vehicle the next morning. She discovered a broken front windshield on her vehicle.

A man came to Taraval Station to report a dog bite. The man stated that he was delivering a package to a home for his job. The man knocked on the door and the resident of the home answered the call and opened the door. Then the resident’s dog came through the doorway and had caused a minor injury to the man.

An officer was dispatched to the scene regarding a residential burglary. Upon arriving to the scene the officer was met by a man who stated that his home was uninhabitable due to construction had been burglarized. The last construction worker locked and secured the home before leaving the night before and upon returning to the home in the morning. The man discovered an unknown suspect had forced open a small entry door on the side of the garage. The door appeared to be pried open and certain items were missing.

Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a woman who stated that she left her house in the afternoon with the doors and windows locked. Upon returning home in the evening, she noticed the front door was opened. When she opened the front door, she noticed the door frame was damaged and discovered that her home was ransacked and several items were missing.

Burglary – Hot Prowl – Forced Entry

An officer was dispatched to the scene and upon arriving to the scene the officer was met by a woman who stated she heard a loud crash coming from her backyard. The woman looked outside and saw two screens pulled from their windows and left on the ground. The woman stated to the officer that her window was in good condition when she left in the morning. The officers then conducted a walkthrough of the premise.

Burglary – Residence Under Construction – Forced Entry

400 Ralston Street

Officers responded to a call regarding a burglary of a home under construction. Upon arriving to the scene, the officers were met by the general contractor and he stated that he secured the jobsite before leaving. Upon returning in the morning one of the carpenters noticed that the front door was opened and the lock on the windows were damaged. Certain items were missing.

Officers were dispatched to the scene regarding a burglary report. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by a man who stated he left his home locked and secured. Upon returning home he discovered that the glass window on the front door was broken, front door was opened and his bedroom was ransacked. The unknown suspect took several items from the home.

Theft – Shoplifting

Officers responded to a call regarding a shoplifting incident. Upon arriving to the scene the officers were met by the loss prevention agent. The loss prevention agent stated that an unknown suspect stole several items from the store. The suspect removed the security straps off the items and ran out of the store without making an attempt to pay for the items.
