Traffic Violation – Resisting Arrest – Cited

Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle running a red light. The officers conducted a traffic stop and advised the driver of her violation. The officers wrote a citation and presented it to the driver to sign but the driver refused to sign. Instead, the driver demanded to make a phone call despite the officers previously requesting that she not make any calls while she was a being detained. An officer opened the driver’s vehicle door and the driver immediately unhooked her seatbelt and lunged at the officer. After a struggle, the driver was successfully placed in handcuffs. After further investigation, the driver was cited.
