Officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported that he noticed a suitcase and an assortment of items on the floor when a homeless person walked over and threw his coat on to the floor next to the items. While the victim was taking a photo of the items on the floor, the suspect approached him and started yelling at the victim for not having any empathy. The victim and suspect argued and had started yelling at each other when the suspect suddenly threw a cup of hot coffee at the victim. The suspect then fled the store, despite the store manager attempting to detain her.
