As we begin year 2014, the SFPD ALERT program continues to develop and grow. The ALERT program now has more than 60 trained volunteers, prepared to assist our Department after a disaster. Our next training class is scheduled for May 3rd, 2014. We anticipate another 20-25 people to attend each of our training classes in 2014. On October 26th, 2013, the ALERT volunteers came to the Academy to participate in the first (ever) ALERT training drill. At the drill, the volunteers were given the opportunity to hone the skills they learned in our requisite 8-hour training class.
Our recruitment efforts are expanding and we believe that the SFPD ALERT program will become a model for other law enforcement agencies. Please check out our ALERT Flyer. If you have any question, please contact me at the below information.
