Robbery – Burglary

Officers responded to the hospital regarding a victim who was injured in a home robbery. The victim reported that he had closed the front door but had left it unlocked for his roommates before going to sleep in his bedroom. The victim was suddenly awoken later when someone, the first suspect, reached over him to grab his laptop. The victim also noticed a second suspect that was in the room as well. The first suspect punched the victim several times, which caused the victim to lose consciousness. The suspects were no longer in the room when the victim regained consciousness.  

Battery

Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim, an employee for a restaurant, reported that he was working and pushing an empty rolling tray cart back into the restaurant when the suspect suddenly grabbed him and pushed him against the wall of a nearby building. The suspect angrily stated that the victim had pushed the cart on to his foot and threatened to beat up the victim. The suspect then walked away.  

Brandishing a Weapon

Ocean Ave & Phelan Ave
Officers responded to a report of a firearm. The victim reported that he had been standing near a garbage can when a vehicle drove up to him. The suspect exited the vehicle and told the victim to get out of the way before forcibly bumping into the victim. The suspect then retrieved a bag from the vehicle and removed a firearm. A second person exited the vehicle and instructed the suspect to get back into the car. The vehicle then drove off. The victim stated that the firearm was not pointed at him during the incident.

Kirkham St & 44th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim, a driver for Uber, stated that he had responded to pick up a fare and had called to say that he had arrived at the location.  The suspect asked the victim to wait and the victim responded that he could wait a little bit but not for long because there were other fares in his vehicle. The suspect failed to appear after a short while and the victim attempted to drive away. However, the suspect ran up to him and punched the victim’s face through the open window of the vehicle before fleeing.
