Residential Burglary – Forcible Entry

Officers responded to a residential burglary with forcible entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a woman who stated that when she returned home, she noticed the front door was opened. When she went through the rooms of the house, she discovered that someone ransacked several rooms of the house. The woman discovered that the lock on the front gate was broken. The officers then spoke to a witness who observed the two unknown men exit a vehicle and enter the garage door. An officer investigated the scene and noticed small pry marks on the outer gate lock area and the front door lock area. The officer determined that the point of entry and exit were through the front door.
Suspect 1: Indian male, 22-25 years old, medium length black hair, thin build.
Suspect 2: Asian, black hair.

Residential Burglary – Unlawful Entry

Officers responded to a residential burglary with unlawful entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to a man who stated that he left his residence with the doors locked and a window opened. When the victim returned home, he discovered that someone had rummaged through his bedroom and money was missing. The officer then spoke to the father of the victim who stated that he noticed a plant pot next to the opened window of the bedroom. The officer noticed a small pry mark on the window frame. The officer determined that the point of entry was the rear window that was left opened.

Officers responded to malicious mischief with vandalism to property. Upon arrival at the scene, an officer met with a man who showed him a damaged security key holder. The man stated to the officer that earlier the key holder had no pry damage, and there was an undamaged plastic bag was placed around it. Several days prior to the incident, the man observed the bag was ripped. On a later date when the man went to place a new bag, he observed pry marks on the exterior of the key holder.

Officers responded to a suspicious occurrence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a woman who stated that an unknown suspect was on her property tampering with her electrical box and possibly trying to open the door to the back of her house. When she asked the suspect what he was doing, the suspect left the backyard.
Suspect 1: Hispanic male, 5’7”, 30-40 years old, 185 lbs. LSW: Black nylon over face with a hole cut-out, a dark colored heavy jacked, dark pants, and gloves.

Robbery

Officers responded to a robbery involving an injured female victim. When the officers arrived at the scene of the crime, a witness told the officers that she saw the victim yelling for help. The witness then called the police to assist the victim. Shortly after the police’s arrival, the ambulance arrived at the scene to treat the victim. The victim stated that she when she went for a walk, two unknown suspects approached her and used a chemical to blind her eyes. While the victim was unable to see, the suspects took her personal property and fled.
Suspect 1: White Female, between the age 30 and 40, and has red hair.
Suspect 2: White Male, between the age 30 and 40, and has blonde hair.

An officer in full uniform was dispatched to an incident involving a battery. The officer arrived at the scene and was told by the victim that her assailant fled into a nearby business. The officer entered the premises of the business and found the described suspect inside. The suspect complied with the officer’s requests, and exited the building. The suspect denied the assault, however a witness placed her at the scene and identified her as the assaulter. Video surveillance caught the incident. The suspected was booked and cited for battery.

Officer in full uniform in a marked police vehicle observed an individual sleeping in front of a building with a no trespassing sign posted on the door. The officer then performed a record and warrants check on the individual. The check revealed that the individual had a outstanding warrant for his arrest.The suspect was booked at Taraval Station.

Officers in full uniform and in a marked police vehicle responded to a vandalism investigation. Upon arrival at the scene, the victim stated to the officers that there was a history of prior vandalism incidents at his residence and as a result he installed surveillance cameras. The victim also stated that the suspect destroyed his plants that were outside his residence. The victim showed the officers the footage of the incident on the surveillance camera. The man told the officers that he may know who the suspect is.

A man came into Taraval Station to make a police report. The man stated that he found damage on his bedroom window a few days ago and the damage was created by a weapon. However, he did not see the suspect who did the damage because the window was covered by a blind.

Officers in full uniform and in a marked police vehicle responded to a report of an indecent exposure on public streets. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found the man on a bicycle. The officers then identified the man and searched him due to the man’s potential of carrying a dangerous weapon. During the search, the officers found a device that is used for smoking narcotics and a bag containing drugs. The man was then given a preliminary drug test. The officer booked the man at the County Jail once the results came out positive.

Officers were dispatched to a business that was receiving unwanted harassing phone-calls. The officers spoke with the employee that was receiving the phone calls. The employee stated that the unwanted phone-calls were an ongoing incident that started many months ago. The employee also stated that the phone calls were coming from an unknown male with a blocked number, and she fears the man may come to the business and attack her.

Warrant Arrest – Well Being Check – Aided Case

Officers went to investigate a call involving an argument in a residence. However, when the officers arrived at the scene, the argument seemed to have dissipated. The officers were greeted by one of the individual that lived at the residence. The resident told the officers the argument was about how the living conditions of people in the residence was unacceptable and requested a well being check on a disabled individual. The officers then performed the requested well being check. While performing the check, the officers discovered one of the residents living under the same roof had an active warrant. The officers booked the individual with the warrant, and brought the disabled individual to a hospital.

Officers were dispatched to a residence with a newly broken window. When the officer arrived at the residence, he met the resident who stated that when he was sleeping, he heard glass breaking, and went to determine if it was his window. The man then noticed his window broken, but did not see anyone. The officers then gave the man a follow-up form and a case number.

Officers in full uniform and in a marked patrol vehicle responded a possible hot prowl. Prior to arrival at the scene, the officers were told that water can be heard from the premise which was supposed to be empty. When the officers arrived at the scene, a neighbor of the premise told the officers that the building had been vacant for several months and should not have been anyone inside. The officers then conducted a search of the house, only to find the building was not in the original condition the owner had left it in. The officers were unable to locate anyone inside the building.

An officer in full uniform was dispatched to the location of Ocean Ave and Junipero Serra Blvd to locate a suspicious vehicle driving unsafe. The officer was met by multiple reporting parties stating that the driver of the suspicious vehicle appeared to be having problems controlling the vehicle. When the officer located the vehicle he found the driver in the driver seat crying uncontrollably, and was unable to speak. When the driver calmed down, he told the officer he had personal problems which caused him to behave erratically. Medical examiners were summoned and determined the driver was normal and not under the influence of any substances. The driver was released and picked up by another party.

A woman went to Taraval Station to report that her identity may have been compromised. The woman told the officer that she received a suspicious phone call from a person claiming to be a government agent, and due to the phone call she gave the caller her personal information. However after realizing it may have been a fraud she wanted to report it police.

Officers in full uniform and in a marked police vehicle responded to a burglary report. When the officers arrived at the scene they were told by the resident that his house had been ransacked while he was away for a long period of time. The officers then spoken with a neighbor who stated that she saw a raccoon get into the residence, and was inside for a few days. The officers investigated the residence and discovered animal paw prints all over the residence. The resident was given a follow-up form.

Officers in full uniform and in a marked patrol vehicle observed a vehicle with an expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was unable to provide the officers with a valid California Drivers Licenses, the officers made numerous attempts to identify the driver on the computer but each attempt was unsuccessful. The driver was also unable to show officers a valid form of insurance either for the vehicle. The driver was released and the vehicle was left legally parked on the street. The woman was cited for expired registrations, unlicensed driver, and for not having insurance.

An officer observed a vehicle involved in a minor non injury traffic collision with another vehicle. The officer contacted the primary driver that caused the collision and identified him. The driver told him that he did not have a driver’s license. Based on the officer’s investigation, he determined that the primary driver was at fault for the collision for performing an unsafe lane change. The officer cited the primary driver for driving without a license and making an unsafe lane change.

Commercial Burglary – Unlawful Entry – Possession of Burglary Tools – Cited

Officers responded to commercial burglary for an unlawful entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to the loss prevention agent who stated that they had a female in custody for shoplifting. The loss prevention agent witnessed the suspect concealing unpaid store merchandise in the suspect’s handbag. When the woman proceeded to the exit without paying at the register, the loss prevention agent confronted and detained her. The woman gave the loss prevention agent consent to search her bag, in which they found burglary tools.The officer arrested the woman for burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Officers responded to vandalism to vehicle incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed that the victim’s vehicle’s front and rear passenger side vehicle windows were broken. The victim stated to the officers that an unknown man on a bicycle broke his car windows. The victim recognized the suspect and provided the officers a description of the individual.

Upon arrival at the scene, an officer spoke to a man who stated that he woke up to find that an unknown suspect had dented the hood of the vehicle, cracked the windshield, and shattered the driver’s side windows. The officer believes that the suspect used a pellet or BB gun to damage the vehicle. While the officer was taking the report, a neighbor of the victim approached the officers and stated that his vehicle had been damaged in the same way.

Officers responded to a call of a vandalized vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers were taking a report for the vandalism when a resident of the area approached the officers and stated that his vehicle had been vandalized. There was damage to the door and window of the victim’s vehicle. The officer believes that the suspect used a pellet of BB gun to damage the vehicle.

Officers responded to vandalism to property incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a man who stated that he noticed an unknown man rollerblading on property belonging to the victim while another unknown man was recording. The witness tried asking the two unknown men to leave the premises, but the men ignored him. When the suspect rollerblading collided into the witness, both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to a discharged firearm incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke with a man who stated that during the morning he noticed bullet holes at the front windows of his residence. The man did not hear any gun shots throughout the night. An officer observed what appeared to be five bullet holes in the front window, but did not observe any bullet holes inside the residence. The officer also searched the surrounding area and did not find any shell casings. The officer believes that the holes in the window may have been caused

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to a man who stated that when he returned to his vehicle he discovered that his vehicle’s windshield was cracked. He also stated that he had no issues with any of his neighbors and could not think of why anyone would intentionally damage his vehicle.

The man stated to the officer that a business’ corporate office contacted him to inform him of an attempted fraudulent purchase. Someone had opened up a line of credit with his account number and attempted to make a purchase. The man stated that no money was missing from his credit card account.

The woman stated to the officer that several businesses contacted her to inform her that an unknown person opened several accounts under her name and tried to make purchases. The woman never gave anyone permission to open accounts under her name and make purchases.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a fraud of false personation to receive money. The woman stated to the officer that an unknown suspect fraudulently changed her credit card information in order to make a transaction. When she checked her account she discovered that her account was put on fraud alert. She stated to the officer that she has notified her bank of the incident.

A woman came into Taraval Station to file a suspicious occurrence report. The woman stated to the officer that she believes her ex-husband is involved in money laundering. She discovered that he used their daughter’s information to make a purchase. The woman does not know why her ex-husband used their daughter’s information. The man and woman no longer communicate with one another.

Officers responded to a report of residential burglary. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with the son of the homeowner. He informed them that he left for work, leaving the house locked up and secure. When he returned, the son discovered the house was rifled through, the walls were damage, and his dog was missing.

Commercial Robbery – Use of Force

Officers responded to a police alarm of commercial robbery. Upon arrival at the scene, they met with other officers who informed them that the building was in lockdown. The officers learned that the cash handlers were robbed, and the suspect already left the building. However, the other employees of the business were able to obtain a description of the man. Suspect 1: White male, between 55-62 years old, 5’5”, 165lbs, black hair. LSW: Grey hooded sweatshirt, black beanie cap, red T-shirt (possible 49ers shirt), tan pants.

Officers were dispatched to a call of theft. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met an employee who told them that he left his bag in the locker room and left the building. When he returned, he said he noticed his bag was open. He discovered his wallet was missing. Surveillance footage showed an unknown suspect walking down the hallway and into the locker room then exited a few seconds later.
Suspect 1: Black male, between 50-60 years old, 6’0”, 170lbs. LSW: glasses, gray goatee, black baseball cap, dark jacket, dark pants.

Officers responded to a call regarding petty theft. The officers met with the security agent who stated that he detained a male subject. The agent said he saw the suspect place several items in his bag and pass all operating cashiers without paying. He followed the suspect, escorted the man to security office, and notified the police. A computer query revealed that the suspect had multiple burglary and theft charges. The man was booked for petty theft with prior convictions and violating probation.

Officers were dispatched to a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with a Loss Prevention Detective. She told the officers that she was informed that a co-worker monitoring surveillance saw a female suspect removing items from clothing racks and heading towards the women’s restroom. The detective said that another co-worker followed the suspect into the restroom and saw the woman removing tags and putting them on as layers. The suspect exited the restroom and left the store, passing several open registers without paying. The detective followed the suspect out and identified her. She proceeded to take the suspect in custody and asked the woman remove all merchandise. The woman was cited for shoplifting.

A man walked into the station to report malicious mischief to his vehicle. He informed the officers that he parked his car and left it unattended for a few hours. Upon return, he noticed that his vehicle was not running properly. Further inspection revealed that the passenger side wheels were slashed.

Officers responded to a report of false personation to receive money. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a man who stated that an unknown man claiming to be an IRS agent called him and left a voicemail. The suspect told the man that he was under investigation for a tax related issue, and he needed to send him a check.

A man walked into the Taraval Station to report identity theft. He told the officer that an unknown suspect had made withdrawals from his credit accounts. The man stated that he did not authorize anyone to make such withdrawals.

An officer responded to a call regarding possible stolen identity. Upon arrival, the officer met a woman who told the officer that she received a call from an unknown number. The caller informed the woman that he was from a phone company. After a query of the woman’s information, the man said he would fax the woman a bill. She never received the document. No identity theft was revealed from the credit bureaus. The District Attorney’s Office informed the woman that she should make a report just in case.

Officers were dispatched to a theft from a building. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to the resident who stated that the suspect entered his residence and stole his personal belonging. He also stated to the officers that the suspect has a key to his residence. The officers then spoke to the suspect who denied stealing the victim’s personal belonging and denied having a key to his residence.

Officers were dispatched to a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met one of the witnesses who pointed out the suspects. The officers detained and searched the two suspects. The officers found several store merchandises and the witness identified the items as belonging to the store. The witness stated to the officers that she observed the two suspects put the store merchandise into their pockets and leave the store without paying. The officers cited one of the suspects for theft and released him at the scene. The officers booked the other suspect for theft and multiple warrants.

Officers responded to a theft from building. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a man who stated that he left several personal belongings in a container outside his residence. When he returned, all his personal belongings were missing. The man does not know who took his personal belongings.

A man came into Taraval Station to report an identity theft. The victim stated to the officer that he relieved a notice from a company stating that his prepaid card had arrived. The victim contacted the company and was advised that an unknown suspect opened an account with his information. The victim gave anyone his personal information to open the account.

Officers were dispatched to a death report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to another officer who was on scene and already spoke to the wife of the deceased man. The woman stated that to the officers that when she returned home, she discovered her husband deceased and contacted emergency services. She also stated that her husband did not suffer from any medical conditions. The officers observed no signs of foul play.

Officers observed a vehicle that did not have front license plate. The officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver. The driver stated to the officer that he did not have a driver’s license and his license was suspended. A DMV query confirmed that the driver’s license was suspended. Residential Burglary – Unlawful Entry

Officers responded to a report of residential burglary. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with the residential owner. The owner informed them that she left her residence secure upon exiting. She returned to discovered personal belongings missing, but later found the items moved to another location. Upon inspection, officers discovered no signs of forced entry to the residence door. There were no leads to a specific suspect.

Commercial Burglary – Unlawful Entry

Officers responded to a report of a commercial burglary. Upon arriving on the scene, they met with a loss prevention agent that made a citizen’s arrest on the suspect. The suspect was being watched by a loss prevention agent and cameras, and was caught walking past registers and out of the store with items. The officers determined that he had no intent to pay for the stolen items and was arrested for burglary and booked at the Taraval Station.

Officers responded to a report of vandalism. Upon arrival officers met with the victim of a smashed vehicle window and his wife. They stated to the officers that as they got off their vehicle with their two dogs, another two men came walking down along the same sidewalk. The dogs started to approach the two men and barked and jumped near them. A small verbal confrontation ensued and they left to their residences. Sometime later they heard a smash sound outside their home and saw that their vehicle’s window was smashed out. The victim and his wife knew where the two men lived and informed the officers. The officers later went to the residence of the two men and questioned them. The two men said the same story to the officers as the victim and his wife, but added a different reason for the verbal confrontation and denied anything to do with the vandalism. Officers did not cite or arrest anyone.

Officers responded to a report of a man carrying a gun. While enroute to the scene, officers were provided with information of the suspect’s characteristics. At the scene, the officers parked their patrol vehicle in front of local store. Moments later, the described suspect came walking out of the local store and was recognized by one of the officers and was ordered to stop and place his hands on his head. The officer then noticed a handle of a gun sticking out of his waistband and quickly placed the man under arrest. The man was then transported to Taraval Station for further investigation. A stolen belonging and what is believed to be fake currency was retrieved from the man. The items were booked into evidence. The man was arrested and booked for possession of a loaded firearm, stolen property, and of counterfeit money.

Officers responded to a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene they were met with other officers already securing the scene. The arriving officers were provided with possible witness information and that the perimeter search resulted to no avail. The officers spoke to a woman who heard a loud bang, similar to a gunshot, outside her residence on the sidewalk area. The woman stated that her two nephews ran into her residence stating someone shot at them. The woman’s nephews would not cooperate with the officers. A man in a vehicle drove by and discharged a round into the garage. The discharged round from the man in the vehicle struck no one. No one was arrested or cited at the scene.

A man and woman came into the Taraval Station to report a fraudulent check cashed in their name. The woman reported to the officer that she was notified by her bank that she had a negative balance. She said that the date of the withdraw, was the same date she opened her account. She also notified the officer that the check number used was never in her possession. The officer obtained the information given by the woman and booked it into evidence.

A woman and came into the Taraval Station to report an unknown person attempting to open a loan account in her name. The woman received a phone call from a loan company to verify a loan from them. She said to the officer that she never inquired about a loan or giving permission to anyone to do so in her name. The woman reported a similar incident in the past, but does not know if it may be the same person.

Officers responded to a suspicious occurrence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with other officers who were already on scene. The officers stated to the arriving officer that several witnesses observed man 1 physically strike man 2 and drag him with his vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene. The officer then spoke to man 1 who stated that as he was crossing the street, in which man 2 in a vehicle pulled up to him. The two men got into an altercation of who had the right of way. During the altercation, man 2 physically struck man 1’s face. Man 1 stated to the officer that man 2 never hit him or ran him over. The officer also spoke to man 2 who stated that he did not physically strike man 1. Man 2 also stated that he tried to help but was not allowed because passerby’s rushed him by pounding his vehicle and yelling at him.

Officers affected a traffic spot on a vehicle due to the driver using her cell phone. Officers requested for her driver’s license and she could not provide one. The woman told the officers that the vehicle belonged to the passenger and he provided the officers with a driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance. Officers released the vehicle to the man. The woman was cited for driving while using a cell phone and driving with a suspended license.

Officers affected a traffic stop on a vehicle, for the driver not wearing his seatbelt. Officers asked the man if he had a driver’s license and he stated he did not. Officers placed the man under arrest and a computer query was made to determine if he did or did not have one. The computer query revealed that the man did not have a license and the vehicle was left legally parked at the scene. Officers released and cited the man for not wearing his seatbelt while driving and not having a driver’s license.
