THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2014

Residential Burglary – Unlawful Entry

Officers were dispatched to a residential burglary with unlawful entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met the homeowner who stated that when he returned to his home, he discovered that the patio door was opened, his bedroom was ransacked, and his money was missing. The front door of the residence was still locked and closed. The homeowner also stated to the officer that other no valuable personal belongings were found missing, and the only person who possessed a key to the residence was a house cleaner.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a battery. The woman stated to the officer that while she was shopping at a retail store she placed a wrong
order. She stated that when she notified an employee of the store, the employee stated it was the woman’s fault. The woman and the employee got into a brief argument. At the end of the altercation, the employee threw the contents of the woman’s order onto her. The woman was not injured from the contents thrown onto her.

Assault – Attempted Homicide with a Weapon

100 Brighton Ave

Officers in full uniform and in a marked patrol vehicle responded to gunshots. As the officers arrived at the scene, one of the officers exited the vehicle and ran toward the approximate location of the gunshots. At the scene the officer immediately saw that an unknown individual was running toward him holding an object with similar characteristics to a handgun. When the officer ordered the unknown individual to stop running, the suspect fled from the officer. The officer chased the man, but eventually lost sight of him. However the officer was able to retrieve the gun that the suspect had held. The other officer at the scene also chased two other gun carrying suspects and was able to detain them. The officers then met with a male victim who was shot by the suspects. Once the scene was secured the officers summoned medics to assist the victim.

An officer responded to a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer met with a loss prevention agent who stated that while she was observing the surveillance camera, she observed a suspicious male that concealed store merchandise into a box. The man passed all manned cash registers and exited the store without paying for the concealed merchandise. The loss prevention agent immediately approached the suspect, identified herself, and detained the suspect. The officer did a computer check which revealed that the suspect had been convicted several times for theft related incidents and was also on felony probation.
The officer arrested and booked the suspect for theft and for violating his probation.

Officers responded to a pickpocket incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with a woman who stated that when she discovered her personal belongings were missing after she exited a store. The victim recalled that while she was still in the store, a suspicious woman who was acted strangely around the victim. The victim asked the store employees to look through surveillance footages of the incident After reviewing the footages they were able to see the suspicious woman lean over and reach into the victim’s purse to take the victim’s belongings.

Officers in full uniform were on patrol when a group of men flagged them down. The men stated to the officers that their windows to their cars were broken by a BB gun. The officers observed that the vehicles’ broken windows had cracks with small holes that were consistent with holes made by BBs. The men did not know anyone who would want to damage their property.

Officers were advised by dispatch of vehicle used in a vandalism that was on the move. The officers observed the stated vehicle traveling and therefore conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The officers ordered the occupants to step out of the vehicle and handcuffed them. A records check revealed that the driver possessed a suspended driver’s license and the other occupant was on active felony probation. When the officers looked into the vehicle, they saw in plain view two BB guns, BB gun ammunition, and a box of CO2 canisters. The officers then made contact with the witness who claimed that earlier his vehicle had been vandalized by a BB gun. The witness stated that he heard the sound of a BB gun firing and glass breaking. He then saw the two suspects fleeing the scene.
The two men were arrested and booked for possession of toys projecting missiles by gas, driving with a suspended license, conspiracy to commit a crime, and vandalism.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report vandalism to her vehicle. The woman stated to the officer that when she returned to her parked vehicle, she discovered that her rear windows were completely smashed. She was unable to see any suspects or locate a witness to the vandalism incident.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a suspicious occurrence. The woman stated to the officer that she had served her tenant a bill previously and the tenant responded with a note back to the woman. The woman was concerned about a line in the note that may result in damage to her or her residence. The woman is unsure of what her roommate may do, however she does not take the note as a threat. She has since then served her roommate with an eviction notice.

An officer observed a driver driving a vehicle with an inoperable right brake lamp. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver. The officer found the driver’s license was suspended after he did a computer check on the driver.
The officer cited the driver for driving with a suspended license and for driving with an inoperable brake lamp.

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 21, 2014
Robbery with Force – Assault with Force – Cited

Officers were dispatched to a robbery and assault with force in a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke with two victims, a private investigator and an intern. The intern stated that she entered the residence to serve court summons. After she entered the house the residents grabbed her and attempted to keep her inside the home. During this process, the intern was hurt and her cell phone was broken. The private investigator was eventually able to pull his intern out of the residence. The officers then spoke to the residents of the home who stated that the intern entered their home and served them court summons. They stated that the intern was recording them with a cell phone and when they asked her to stop recording them, she refused. The residents and intern got into a verbal argument. When the man grabbed the cell phone, the three residents fell to the ground. As they fell, the intern’s cell phone broke. The female resident stated that the private investigator then ran into the home and pushed and scratched her while attempting to free the intern. The intern picked up her broken cell phone and left the home with the private investigator.
Based on the investigation, the officers arrested the residents of the home for robbery.

Officers responded to a battery report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a woman who stated that she got into a verbal argument with her roommate and out of nowhere her roommate grabbed and pulled her hair. The woman retaliated in self defense. She stated that the suspect punched her and then fled the scene. The woman also stated to the officers that the suspect stole her personal belonging.

Officers were dispatched to a battery report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met an employee who stated he served a woman a beverage that she was unsatisfied with. The two then got into a verbal argument. When the employee reached for the beverage, the woman pushed the cup and the contents got onto the employees hands. The woman then left the premise. The employee sated to the officers that he was not injured from the incident.

A man came into Taraval station to file a report of vandalism to his vehicle. The man stated that after he parked his vehicle and went into his house, he heard a noise. The man went outside and discovered dents on the front and rear passenger side panels.

Officers responded to a vandalism incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a man who stated that someone shot the front window of his home. The window had small holes the size of BB gun pellets. There was no other damage done to his house. The man stated that the vehicles in front of his house also had similar broken windows.

Officers responded to a malicious mischief incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed graffiti on the side of a house and on the sidewalk. The resident does not know who is responsible for the graffiti. The officers then spoke to a neighbor who stated that in the past he had a verbal argument with another neighbor, however he does not know if the other party is responsible for the graffiti.

Officers observed the left brake light and passenger side headlight of a vehicle inoperable. The officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver. The driver stated that she was issued a driver’s license, but left it at home. The officers did a computer query that revealed she had a suspended driver’s license.
The officers cited the woman for driving with a suspended license, the left brake light out, and the passenger side headlight out.

Officers observed a vehicle with expired registration tabs. The officers then conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver. The officers then did an a computer query that revealed that the vehicle registration was expired and the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was also unable to provide the officers his proof of vehicle insurance.
The officers cited the driver for driving with a suspended driver’s license, expired registration, and no proof of insurance.

Officers observed a vehicle that was parked parallel, faced the wrong flow of traffic, and attempted to enter traffic directly in front of the officers. The officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver who stated that he did not possess a driver’s license. The officers did a computer check that revealed that the driver’s previous licenses was suspended and revoked. The officers tried to verify the driver’s identification, but the man stated that he only had a passport that was located in his vehicle’s trunk. When the man opened the driver’s door, the officers noticed a concealed handgun. They handcuffed the driver and conducted a pat down/frisk search for additional weapons. Upon closer examination, the officer realized the handgun was an air soft gun with no orange tip.
The officers cited the man for driving with a suspended driver’s license and for possession of an air soft gun.

Theft From Building

Officers responded to a bicycle theft from a residential building. The officers met one of the resident who stated that his bicycle was missing and the last time he seen the bicycle was the previous day. He found out his bicycle was stolen when he realized the garage door was no longer able to fully close. He also mentioned to the officers that this was not the first time his bicycle was stolen.

Officers in full uniform responded to a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with a store employee that stated that he witnessed a unknown male set off the security sensors located by the exit doors. The employee was unable to detain the suspect and stated that after viewing the surveillance cameras, he concluded that the suspect was a suspect that constantly goes into their store to steal shoes.
Suspect 1: African Male, 6’1, between 60 – 70, approximately 180lbs, last seen wearing a dark jacket, maroon button up shirt, dark pants, dark shoes, carrying a white shopping bag, and has a gray goatee.

Officers responded to a possible theft. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met with the reporting party. The reporting party stated that he left his vehicle parked, upon his return he noticed a man carrying a bag similar to his own. When the reporting party realized it was his bag he told the suspect to stop and give him back his back. After a struggle, the suspect eventually gave up and took off on foot leaving the bag and other items behind. The reporting party stated that he got back his belongings, however there was also some green leafy vegetable matter in his bag that was not his along with some other items. The officers seized the leafy substances and secured it as evidence at Taraval Station.

Officers in full uniform in a marked patrol vehicle responded to a anonymous call of a male individual carrying a gun. Officers located the individual suspected of carrying a gun. The officers then approached the suspect and did a cursory search for the weapon. The officers were unable to locate the weapon on the suspect or in the surrounding area. The suspect also told the officers that he had an argument with his girlfriend who was in the bathroom at a local restaurant. The officers then located and searched the suspect’s girlfriend; however they were unable to locate any firearms on her either. The two individuals were then released from the scene after the officers was unable to re-contact the anonymous caller.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of a vandalism occurrence. Upon the officer’s arrival they were met by the reporting party who stated that his vehicle had been broken into however nothing had been taken. The officers were unable to immediately view surveillance cameras in the surrounding area due to the time of the incident occurrence.

A woman came to Taraval Station to report that her bank account was compromised. The woman stated over a period of time the suspect stolen a certain amount of money to pay for advertisements. The woman was unaware of the fraudulent charges until recently due to an illness and was unable to monitor her bank account. The woman stated that she given no permission to anyone to use her account.

She stated he had previously filed a report against the caller, however the phone calls continue. The caller made threats to have bad things happen to the woman if she spoken with authorities.

Residential Burglary – Unlawful Entry

Officers responded to a residential burglary with unlawful entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to the homeowner who stated that personal belongings have been stolen from the garage. Earlier that day, the owner left the garage open for a couple hours. The officer determined that the point of entry and exit was through the garage door.

Officers responded to a residential burglary with unlawful entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to a man who stated that an unknown man that claimed to be a contractor rang his doorbell and left. However, later the man returned with two other individuals that went inside the victim’s residence and taken the victim’s belongings.
Suspect 1: Hispanic male, 5’9”, 25-30 years old, 155 lbs, black hair, brown eyes. LSW: Dark jacket and blue pants.
Suspect 2: Hispanic male, 5’6”, 30-35 years old, 140 lbs, brown shoulder length uncombed hair, salt and pepper goatee, brown eyes. LSW: Long brown full length coat.
Suspect 3: White female, 5’6”, 25-30 years old, 120 lbs, blonde hair touching the upper back, brown eyes. LSW: Brown shirt and brown pants.

A man came into Taraval Station to report a battery. The man stated to the officer that he confronted an unknown man who was following him and getting too close for comfort. The unknown man immediately punched the victim in the face. The victim yelled for police, but none came. He began to walk away, but the unknown man followed him. The unknown man stopped following the victim after a few blocks.
Suspect 1: Black male, 5’10”, 50-59 years old, 160 lbs. LSW: blue jacket with a hood and black pants. Possess a hoodie and carries a plastic garbage bag.

Officers responded to a report of a parole violation. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers made contact with the parolee and took custody of him. The officers searched the room and found a clear plastic wrapper that contained methamphetamine.
The officers booked the parole for possession of methamphetamine.

Officers observed a man that held an open alcoholic beverage in a public space. The officers approached the man in order to issue him a citation. A record check of the man revealed that he possessed warrants.

Officers responded to a well-being check. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met other officers who were already on scene. The officers were informed that earlier they entered a room with a few people and saw some vials with suspicious looking substances. The officers identified one of the people in the room as a gang member and a computer check revealed that he had a no bail warrant.
The officers arrested and booked the man with the warrant.

Officers were dispatched to a theft from a building. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to a man who stated that he placed his personal belongings into a locker and when he returned a few of his personal belongings were missing from the locker. The man did not see the suspect.

An officer responded to a dispatch call of vandalism to a vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer spoke to a woman who stated that the windows to her vehicle were vandalized. The officer observed the vehicle and noticed that the damaged windows have small holes. The officer believes the vehicle was damaged with BB gun pellets.

Officers were dispatched to a burglary call. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer met a tenant of the building who stated that when he returned home, he found his gate open. The tenant told the officers that an unknown suspect had used an unknown tool to pry his gate open. The tenant was unsure of whether or not the suspect entered the building.

A man came into Taraval Station to report unauthorized activity on his credit. The man stated to the officer that his credit watch company notified him of an account opened in his name, and the IRS notified him a tax return was already filed in him name. His credit watch company also informed him of numerous attempts to open fraudulent credit accounts under his name.

A woman came into Taraval Station to file a fraud report. The woman stated to the officer that her bank sent her a notice informing her of suspicious activity on her account. An unknown suspect used her account number to make unauthorized charges. The woman never gave anyone permission to use her account information.

Officers were dispatched to an incident that involved an unknown man knocking on doors. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed a man lying asleep in front of a door. The officers woke the man up and smelt a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the man. When the officers observed the man, they saw lacerations on the man’s lips and head. The officers then requested for an ambulance to assist the man.

An officer responded to a suspected drunk driving incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer identified the driver and smelt a strong odor of alcohol that emitted from the driver. The officer then administered the field sobriety test to the driver. Based on the officer’s observations, there were no signs of accidents that the driver may have caused.
The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

An officer observed a vehicle with a missing front turn signal and expired registration. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver. The officer also did a computer check which revealed that the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was also unable to provide the officer proof of financial responsibility for his vehicle.
The officer cited the driver for driving without a license, on a suspended license, with expired registration, with a missing font turn signal, and with no insurance.

Officers responded to a call of assault. Upon arrival, the officers were met the residents who said they did not hear nor see anything outside their home. A few minutes later, a woman appeared, shaken and crying. The woman told the officers that she was dropped off by her cousin and she walked down the street. She said she called out to an unknown male when two other unknown males walked up to her. Suspect 1 demanded that she give him the phone then proceeded to grab it. Suspect 1 started to physically assault the woman several times then left with Suspect 2 in an unknown vehicle.
Suspect 1: Black male, between 20-25 years old, 5’8”, 160lbs, Black hair. LSW: Black beanie, SF Giants Jacket, dark colored pants, wearing braces

Officers were dispatched to report of residential burglary. Upon arrival, the officers were met with the tenant who informed the officers that she had left her home locked and secure. She told them that a few credit cards were missing and that several documents and business cards were rifled through.

Officers responded to a call of a detained shoplifter. Upon arrival, the met with a Loss Prevention Agent who informed the officers that he was monitoring surveillance cameras when he saw a man taking several items off the rack and heading to the fitting room. When the suspect came out, none of the items were in view. The agent contacted another co-worker to check out the dressing room. The co-worker said that six of the eight items taken were in the room. The suspect was seen leaving the restroom and headed out of the store, passing several staffed registers. The agent and another co-worker made contact with the suspect and detained him. While checking his bag, they found the two pieces of clothing and tools used for shoplifting.
The man was cited for burglary and possession of burglary tools.

A woman walked into the station to report a assault. She stated while she was in her backyard with her dogs, a suspect started to yell at her through a window. As she approached the window, the suspect jumped out window and physically assaulted the woman.

Officers responded to a call regarding theft. Upon arrival, they met with a tenant who informed the officers that some electronics and jewelry were missing from her room. She told the officers that she hosted a house party and had her belongings on her until most of the guests were gone. She said she later left her belonging in a her room, however when she returned to her room about half an hour later, she saw that her phone and camera were missing, as well as a few rings from her jewelry box.

Officers were dispatched to a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, they met with a Loss Prevention Agent. The agent told the officers that while she was monitoring the store surveillance she spotted an unknown male suspect in the fragrance area with two small children. She saw the suspect select a fragrance set and place it in the baby stroller. She watched as the man passed all open and available resisters before he exited the building. The agent advised her co-workers who then contacted the suspect and detained him.
The man was cited for shoplifting.

Officers were dispatched to a restaurant that involved a theft. Upon arrival, they met a man who told the officers that while he and his wife were having a meal inside a restaurant, two unknown suspects sat behind their table. The man then stated after he paid for the meal he put his wallet in his jacket that hung from the seats. Then immediately he saw the suspects flee the restaurant and his wallet then became missing.

Officers responded to a call of a possible auto boost. Upon arrival, they met a man who said an unknown suspect broke the rear windshield of his vehicle. The man told the officers that he left his car locked up in the garage. When he returned to his car, he saw it damaged, however nothing was said to be missing.
Suspect: Asian male, between 20-25 years old, 5’10”, 170lbs. LSW: Dark colored sweatshirt and blue jeans. Possibly driving an older green model sedan.

Commercial Burglary – Forcible Entry

100 West Portal Ave

Officers responded to a commercial burglary with forcible entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met the manager who stated that earlier the build’s alarm went off. The officers saw that the front door’s window was cracked however it was still secure. The manager believes that a suspect attempted to break into the store to steal items. The manager also told the officer that in the past similar burglaries occurred.

Residential Burglary – Forcible Entry

3000 Alemany Blvd Officers were dispatched to a burglary report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a woman who stated that when she returned home she found the front door of her residence damaged. The woman immediately searched through her residence and discovered several of her personal belongings property. It was discovered that when the woman left, she closed her front door, but did not use the deadbolt. Based on the officer’s observations, the point of entry and exit were through the front door.

Terrorist Threats

Officers were dispatched to an incident that involved terrorist threats. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to a mall security who stated that she received a call from an individual about being banned from the mall. Later, the suspect called a store employee and threatened to burn the store down.

A man came into Taraval Station to file a battery report. The man stated to the officer that while he was at the gym, a individual confronted him. When the victim turned away, the individual threw multiple punches at him. Several people at the gym noticed and subdued the suspect. When the victim said he would call the police, the suspect immediately fled the scene.
Suspect 1: Hispanic male, 6’0”, 23-27 years old, 250 lbs, black hair. LSW: White t-shirt and gray shorts.

Theft – Forgery of Checks

An officer responded to an incident involving theft and forgery of checks. Officers met the store manager who stated that two unknown individuals attempted to use a fraudulent check to buy merchandise. The manager recognized one of the unknown individuals as a suspect in a prior incident. When the manager tried to apprehend the two suspects, they fled the scene in a vehicle.
Suspect 1: Black female, 5’5”, 30-40 years old, 200 lbs, black hair. LSW: Blue shirt, black pants, bright blue shoes, and carrying a black purse.
Suspect 2: Black male, 5’10”, 160 lbs. LSW: White hat, red shirt, blue jeans, and red shoes.

Malicious Mischief – Vandalism to Property

A man came into Taraval Station to report vandalism to his residence. The man stated to the officer that there were ongoing tension between him and his neighbor. The man found eggs thrown on several areas of his residence.

Fraud – False Personation to Receive Money

A woman came into Taraval Station to file a fraud report. The woman stated to the officer that she had an investment with the suspect. The suspect was able to obtain the woman’s personal information from the application form and transferred the victim’s funds to a separate account. The woman believes that the suspect has been using her company to conduct fraudulent activities in several different cities.

A man came into Taraval Station to report a fraud that involved fraudulent usage of his credit cards. The man stated to the officer when he received his bank statements, he discovered numerous unauthorized transactions. The man was unsure of how the suspect was able to use or gain access to his credit card information.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a fraud. The woman stated to the officer that she and a roommate found an ad about tickets to a festival. The roommate contacted the suspect to purchase the tickets. The suspect collected payments from the victim and notified her that she would send them the festival tickets however the victim never received the festival tickets.

A woman came into Taraval Station to file a fraud report. The woman stated that an unknown individual fraudulently used her credit card to make unauthorized purchases. Her bank sent her an email notifying her of possible fraudulent transactions. The bank also informed her that someone tried to inquire about her personal information.

Death Report

Officers responded to a death report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a man who stated that when he came home he was unable to locate his son. However, his son’s room was locked, when the man was able to open the door, the man then found his son hanging from a rope. The man stated to the officers that his son was unstable.

Driving with No License – Driving with No Lights During Darkness – Cited

45th Ave and Sloat Blvd

An officer observed a vehicle without headlights in the dark. The officer used the PA system to notify the driver to turn on her headlights. When the driver did not turn her headlights on, the officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver stated to the officer that she was never issued a California Driver’s license. The officer verified on his computer that no California Driver’s license was issued to the woman.
The officer cited the woman for driving with no driver’s license and failing to turn on headlamps when driving in the dark.

Officers observed a vehicle failing to yield to oncoming traffic almost hitting the pedestrians crossing within the crosswalk. The officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver. The driver notified the officers that he did not have his driver’s license on him. The officers did a computer check that revealed that the driver’s license was suspended.
The officers cited the driver for driving with a suspended license and making a left turn without yielding right of way to vehicles.
