Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim reported that she had approached a stranger, the suspect, to help her exchange an torn $100 bill at a nearby bank because she did not have a mandatory mask to wear inside. The suspect agreed but exited the bank and told the victim that he could not exchange the bill and left the money with the teller instead. The victim followed the suspect in an attempt to retrieve her money and stated that the suspect sprayed the air by her with pepper spray before dropping the pepper spray. The victim picked up the fallen pepper spray and sprayed the suspect, who responded by punching the victim. The victim then picked up a shovel to protect herself before the suspect walked away from her.
