Officers responded to a wellbeing request concerning an unresponsive motorist with a vehicle that had stopped in the middle of the street, despite the engine still running. Responding officers arrived at the location and attempted to make contact with the driver, who was alert but did not respond to the officers. Concerned that the driver was suffering from a medical emergency, the officers broke the vehicle’s window and removed the driver from the vehicle for the attending medics. After further investigation and failing to pass a sobriety test, the driver was cited for intoxication and his vehicle was towed.
