THURSDAY, April 17th,2014

Robbery with Gun

1000 12th Ave

Officers responded to a robbery at gun point. At the scene they met with the victim who stated he was robbed by two men, in which Suspect #1 held the victim while pointing a gun at him and Suspect #2 robbed all of the victim’s belongings. The victim stated he had all his personal belongings in his pockets robbed after getting off his vehicle and was walking to his residence. The victim told the officers that the suspects left the scene on foot.
Suspect #1: African American, Male, in his 20’s, with a muscular build. LSW: Black short sleeved t-shirt, over dark jeans.
Suspect #2: White Male, in his 20’s, with a medium build.

Burglary with Unlawful Entry – Hot Prowl

An officer responded to a report of a burglary at a residence. The victim told the officer that she may have left the back door unlocked over night and in the morning discovered a couple of her personal belongings missing. She told the officer that the back door was slightly open in the morning and that she could not find her personal belongings anywhere.

Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress. Dispatch advised the officers that the suspect was seen running towards Ocean Avenue. The officers responded but were unable to locate anyone matching the suspect’s description. The officers met another officer already at the scene. They located a window that was broken with glass on the ground below. They searched the interior of the premises and determined that entry had not been made. The victim was notified by dispatch and he soon arrived on the scene. The victim stated that everything looked in place and could not find any missing items. An officer took pictures of the scene and booked them for evidence. A follow up form was given to the victim.

An officer responded to a possible burglary in progress. Upon arriving at the scene the officer met the victim and stated that there are pry marks on the entrance door and as he tried to open it, it would not budge. The victim thought that the suspect(s) may still be in his residence. Additional officers arrived at the scene and they conducted a walkthrough of the home. No suspects were located and nothing appeared to be damaged or missing. An officer observed pry marks on the door and concluded that the suspect was unsuccessful to gain entrance into the residence using tools. Photos were taken of the scene and were booked at the Taraval Station.

Officers responded to a report of a male asking residents for help because he was scared. Other officers were already on the scene and the male stated that he had ridden the Muni to his present location because someone was chasing him. Officers searched the area with no results and then conducted a computer inquiry search of the male. The computer inquiry revealed an active outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Taraval Station for booking and further investigation.

Officers responded to a report of theft at a department store. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers met with the department store manager. The manager stated that the suspect grabbed merchandise and exited the store without attempting to make a purchase at the register. The manager stated that the suspect got into the side of a U-Haul van and fled. An officer gave the manager a follow-up form and searched the area for witnesses and video surveillance with no results. The evidence was booked at the Taraval Station.

Driving with a Suspended License – Making an Illegal U-Turn – Cited

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal u-turn, while pedestrians were crossing the crosswalk. The officer made a traffic stop and identified the driver with his CA drivers license. The officer conducted a computer inquiry and discovered that the driver’s license was suspended. The officer cited the driver for making an illegal u-turn and for driving with a suspended license.

Terrorist Threats

Officers responded to a report of terrorist threats. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke with a woman who stated that as she was driving, the vehicle in front of her made an abrupt turn. The woman immediately stopped and almost hit the vehicle in front of her. The driver began yelling at the woman and eventually threatened her by stating that she would send someone to her residence to kill her.
Suspect 1: Black female, 45-50 years old, brown hair. LSW: Short brown hair with bangs, glasses, gap in front teeth, scarf, and driving a white 4D sedan.

Residential Burglary – Forcible Entry

An officer responded to a residential burglary with forcible entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer met a contractor who stated that he locked and secured the house before leaving. When he returned to the house, he found the front door damaged. The contractor searched the residence and discovered many tools missing. He also stated that the unknown suspect attempted and failed to pry open locked tool boxes. The officer determined the point of entry and exit was made through the front door.

Officers responded to a residential burglary with unlawful entry. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met the owner of the residence who stated that when he returned home, he discovered a few of his personal belongings were missing. The officers observed no signs of forced entry and determined the point of entry was through the front door.

Officers responded to a broken window incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed the glass to the front door shattered, and a bottle on the ground. The officers determined the bottle on the ground was used to shatter the front window. The officers then met an employee who stated that she arrived at the building to discover the glass to the front door shattered. She also stated that the front door was still locked, and there was nothing taken or disturbed.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report false Personation to receive money or property. She gave the officers a statement a copy of her canceled check.

An officer observed a stopping vehicle’s driver side brake light fail to illuminate. The officer stopped the vehicle and conducted a computer query of the driver. The officer discovered that the driver’s license was suspended. The officer cited the driver for driving with a suspended license and driving with nonfunctioning brake lights.

Burglary – Forcible Entry

An officer responded to a report of a burglary of a residence that was under construction. Upon arrival the officer met the contractor of the project. He stated that prior to the burglary the residence was chained and locked. However when he returned to the building at a later time he discovered that the chain had been cut and his property was stolen.

Officers responded to a burglary incident. Upon arrival at the scene the officers met with the victim of the incident. She told the officers that she found property that did not belong to her in her yard. She discovered the garage opener was missing from her unlocked car. She determined the point of entry was through the garage with the usage of the garage opener.

An officer responded to a burglary. Upon arrival at the scene the victims of the burglary told the officers that they observed some of their belongings were missing after they were out of town. There were no signs of forced entry to the building, the officer determined the point of entry and exit was the front door.

Officers responded to an incident with a possible person with a weapon. Upon arrival at the scene the occupants of the residence told the officers that two unknown male suspects entered the residence uninvited. The suspects were asked to leave, however prior to leaving they exhibited a weapon in front of the occupants. After the suspects left the residents heard the sound of their windows breaking. The officers searched the immediate area, however no suspects were located. This case is still under investigation.

An officer responded to a possible vandalism to property incident. Upon arrival at the scene the officer spoke with the woman who reported the incident. The woman stated that while she was out for a few days her driveway was clean and undamaged. However when she arrived back at her residence, it was damaged and stained. She believes she knows who is the suspect and wanted to file a report.

A woman came to Taraval Station to report a theft and a check fraud. She told the officer that she found out she was scammed by a online offer after her bank contacted her. She stated she received a check and was supposed to wire a certain amount of money to a certain person and the rest was for her to keep. The bank then notified her that a check she deposited was fraudulent. The officers gave the woman fraud protection and follow-up information.

Officers were dispatched to a burglary report. Upon arrival the officers spoke with the victim of the incident. She told the officers that when she went home she found her door opened, and was unsure if she may have left the door open. She states some of her belongings were missing from her residence.

Officers responded to a fight that occurred at a bar. Upon arrival at the scene the officers were told that the fight was over and the participants were no longer at the scene. The officers however noticed two individuals that were suspects to a previous incident. The officers conducted a criminal history check on the two individuals and searched the individuals for weapons. The officers released the individuals after searching them for weapons.

Officers responded to a well-being check on a elderly female. The elderly woman was outside in the cold attempting handing money to the reporting party. The officers were able to determine the money belongs to the reporting party and the elderly woman only wanted to return the money to the rightful owner.

Monday, April 21st, 2014
Commercial Burglary – Forcible Entry

200 Skyline Boulevard
Officers were dispatched to a call of burglary. Upon arrival, they were met with the tenant who told them that an unknown suspect stole several items from the office. He informed the officers that he noticed that the window to his office was forced open. The officers determined the point of entry and exist to be the damaged window.

Commercial Burglary – Unlawful Entry – Fraudulence – Arrest

Officers responded to a report regarding theft. Upon arrival, the officers were met with a Loss Prevention Agent who state that the suspect committed fraud. The agent said the suspect attempted to use a card that had been reported stolen. The suspect attempted to purchase items when the agent identified himself and reported to the fraud department. Upon confrontation, the suspect stated he was also in possession of several other items belonging to the true card holder’s wife. The man was booked for burglary with unlawful entry, possession with knowledge of stolen property, and fraudulence.

Officers were dispatched to a call of burglary. Upon arrival, they met with a woman who stated that she came home to discover her garage door was not functioning. She said she saw a bicycle petal in front of the garage door. As she walked into her house, she discovered several items missing and that someone rifled through the bedrooms. No signs of forced entry were noted. The point of entry was determined to be the front gate and door and point of exist was through the garage door.

A man came into the station to report vandalism. He told the officer that he was home for lunch when he noticed an unknown crystal-like substance in one of his potted plants. He said a few days later, the plant died. The man believed he knew who did it and went to confront the suspect in which the suspect assaulted the man.
Suspect 1: White male, 45 years old, 6’0”, 245lbs, brown hair, brown eyes.

Officers responded to a report of fraud. Upon arrival, they are met with a man who told them he tried to access his bank account from an ATM machine when he noticed an unknown suspect trying to draw money from one of the machines. Suspect 1 stood behind the man as he was accessing his account. The man stated that he finished his transaction without existing he account fully and started walking away. He turned around to see Suspect 1 accessing the machine he was on and believed the suspect was drawing money from his account. The man went into the bank and spoke with a teller, confirming that money was drawn from his account. Upon exist, the man saw the suspect flee the scene.

Threatening Phone Calls

Officers were dispatched to a possible threat incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers spoke to a woman who stated that one of her coworkers informed her that a suspect phoned him to make a death threat to one of the tenants. The officer later spoke to the man who the threat was made against. He stated that he was housemates with the suspect and that there were problems occurring between the two.

Officers responded to a theft. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a woman who stated that the suspect took store merchandise without paying. When the suspect attempted to exit the building, a loss prevention agent chased him. Officers detained the suspect and conducted a records check on him. The records check revealed that the suspect was on probation, and there was arrest warrants for him. The officers booked the suspect for theft and probation violation.

Officers responded to a theft from a building. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met a restaurant employee who stated that she observed an unknown suspect take money off a table. When the employee confronted the unknown suspect, she denied the allegations and walked towards the door. As the unknown suspect was leaving, she took money off another table.

A man came into Taraval Station to report vandalism to his vehicle. The man stated to the officer that when he returned to his locked vehicle, he discovered damage to the hood of his car. The man also stated that recently a similar incident occurred to one of his neighbors.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report vandalism to her vehicle. The woman stated to the officer that when she returned to her locked vehicle, she discovered that an unknown suspect made key-like scratches on the vehicle’s panels and passenger doors.

An officer responded to an arson incident. Upon arrival to the scene, the officer observed that SFPD extinguished fire. A SFFP personnel informed the officer that no one was hurt by the fire. The officer noticed that the gas flap of the vehicle was open and there was an unknown material inside the gas fill hose. The owner of the vehicle later arrived at the scene, and stated to the officer that he did not know who would do this to him.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report fraudulent use of an ATM. The woman stated to the officer that someone used her information at the ATM and stole money from her account. Her bank notified her that someone conducted several transactions to empty her account. The woman cancelled her ATM card.

An officer contacted a victim about a fraud incident. The victim stated that someone obtained and fraudulently used his credit card at a store. The officer later met the victim at Taraval Station. The victim provided the officer a statement that included numerous locations where multiple fraudulently obtained credit cards were used.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a fraud. The woman stated to the officer that when she was checking her account, she noticed an unknown charge. When she contacted her bank, they informed her that an unknown suspect charged a certain amount on her account to make a purchase. The woman stated that during the fraudulent transaction, her card was in her possession.

A man walked into the station to report fraud. He told the officer that when he was reviewing his credit report, he discovered three accounts he did not apply for. Upon further investigation, the man found that an unknown suspect opened the accounts with his information. The man stated that he gave no one permission to open these accounts nor use his personal information to do so.

A woman came into Taraval Station to report a suspicious occurrence. She stated to the officer that mail belonging to one of her former tenants was being left outside of a mailbox at a rental property she owns. She contacted the post office and they told her they would look into the situation. However, on a later date her tenant informed her that the mail was left outside again. The woman is concerned that someone walking by may steal the mail to do identity theft.

WEDNESDAY, April 23rd, 2014

Robbery

Officers on patrol driving in marked vehicle were dispatched to a report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival the officers met with the victim who stated while she was in front of an ATM, an unknown man forced himself into her personal space and attempted to take her cash. The woman was able to fend off the suspect before he fled the scene. The officers spoke with a neighboring shop that was willing to provide video footage of the incident.
Suspect : African American Male, between the age 18-20, 5’5, approximately 135 pounds, LSW : Grey Knit-type beanie, black and white checkered plaid long sleeve shirt, dark pants, unknown shoes, suspect had a dark complexion.

An officer responded to a burglary report. Upon arrival the officer met with the apartment manager who stated that a suspect broke into the apartment and stolen some property. The man showed the officer the doors and locks that were forced open by the suspect. Based on the officer’s observation the point of entry was through the front door and storage room door.

An officer responded to a burglary report. Upon arrival at the scene, a deli owner told the officer that an unknown suspect broke in his shop at night. The owner showed the officer a video footage of the incident. The officer obtained a copy of the footage in a CD for evidence.
Suspect : Male 5’6, approximately 160 pounds, LSW : Baggy light colored hooded sweater shirt, dark colored pants, and dark colored shoes.

Officers responded to a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival at the scene, a loss prevention agent stated to the officers that the suspect was detained. The officer then conducted a computer query that revealed that the suspect had active warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for shoplifting and booked for his warrant at Taraval Station.

A woman came to Taraval Station to repot that someone made fraudulent charges on her credit card. She stated all the charges were unauthorized and were made on the internet. The woman was given a follow-up form.

Officers responded to a possible break-in. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers met the victim of who stated he saw light shining from behind his bedroom and his doors were open, however he was unable to locate anyone. The officers searched the residence and were unable to locate any suspects. There were no signs of forced entry.

A man came into Taraval Station to report a suspicious occurrence. He stated that he got in a dispute with his neighbor’s tenant. The man later spoke with his neighbor who advised him to file a police report. The officer advised the man of restraining orders if needed.

An officer responded to a complaint of a panhandler. After the officer identified the man, he conducted a records and warrant check on the individual. The check revealed that the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer then arrested and transported the man to Taraval Station.
