The victim, a bartender, told the officers that the suspect, a patron, was fighting with another customer. The victim tried to separate the suspect and the suspect started throwing glasses and beer bottles at the victim. Other patrons physically escorted the suspect out of the bar.

Richmond district broadcast that approximately 100 people were leaving Golden Gate Park. Taraval officers responded to the area and observed a large group of people, may appeared to be intoxicated. Officers located a person with vomit on himself passed out on the sidewalk. Medics were summoned and the person was later transported to the hospital.
