Taraval SROs Receive Recognition (Photos)!

sro_austria_01On September 10, 2014, School Resource Officer (SRO) Austria received recognition, as well as on behalf of SRO Todaro and SRO Graves, for their hard work and dedication to the safety and well-being of our schools in Taraval. Board Supervisor Katy Tang presented a certificate bearing the signatures of all San Francisco Board Supervisors to Officer Austria at Lincoln High School. In addition, each SRO was awarded a gold coin bearing their respective names and words of praise for their work.

Taraval Police District has the most number of schools, in addition to an alternative youth institution, out of all police districts in San Francisco. Therefore, Taraval SROs play a vital role in the City because they are responsible for a large swath of the San Francisco’s education community. They interact with students on campuses and build a rapport that pays dividends in strengthening our relationship with the youth. Every parent can attest that the safety of his or her child or children is paramount. Taraval SROs are up to the task of working hand-in-hand with campus staff in protecting our students.

SFPD Commander Tom–who supervises five police stations that include Taraval, was also present at the award ceremony. He praised the work of Taraval SROs and the strong relationship between the Station and its communities.
