On Tuesday, November 25, 2014 Captain Lum , Sergeant Mannix, Officer Marchand, and Officer Ha joined the SF YMCA’s Urban Services to distribute food and turkey at the Minnie and Lovie Recreation Center in the Taraval Police District. Hundreds of community members came out to appreciate the selfless spirit of those who are willing to spend their time, energy, and money to help others.
In addition to turkey, people in line received fresh bread, produce, and wild Alaskan salmon. Captain Lum, Sergeant Mannix, and Officer Marchand also spent time listening to people’s concerns and answering their questions. The presence of Taraval Station officers and other volunteers instilled a greater sense of community to our needy and the most vulnerable members of our neighborhoods.
