WEDNESDAY – JANUARY 14, 2015

Aggravated Assault with Weapon-Arrest

100 West Portal Ave
Officers were flagged down by a MUNI bus driver. A passenger was injured and bleeding. A suspect had possibly stabbed the victim with a knife and fled. The victim was transported by an ambulance to a hospital. Officers found the suspect and witnesses positively identified him as the culprit. The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault with a weapon.

900 Capitol Ave
Officers responded to a report of a burglary. A victim and his daughter were asleep when an unknown suspect gained entry and burglarized their home. The daughter was the last person to use the front door and they were uncertain if it was locked. Officers determined the front door was the point of entry.

An officer responded to a report of a burglary. A victim briefly heard his burglary alarm go off in the middle of the night. He checked and did not initially find any missing property. In the following morning he saw several belongings were missing. The officer determined the point of entry was the back door.

An officer responded to a report of a burglary. A window to a home was left open while its occupants were out. The occupants-roommates, saw many of their personal belongings missing. They found a tool that none of them recognized and they believed may have been left by an unknown burglary suspect. Crime Scene Investigators were notified to respond.

An officer responded to a report of a theft. A woman briefly left her purse unattended while being helped at a store in a shopping mall. A suspect took her purse and took some of its contents. The suspect then put the purse back where it was taken from and fled. Surveillance footage captured video of the theft.
Suspect: Male, about 5’10”, about 160 lbs., between the ages of 20-30, with black hair. LSW: Burgundy jacket, blue jeans, a cap, a beard and a mustache.

Officers responded to a report of vandalism to vehicles. An unknown suspect slashed the tires of parked and unoccupied vehicles.

A woman walked into Taraval Station to report a vandalism to her vehicle. She returned to her parked and unattended vehicle and the front window damaged. Her vehicle had been vandalized before.

An officer stopped a vehicle with a broken brake light. A record check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was cited and released for the above violations.

Burglary

An officer responded to a report of a burglary. A store owner left his store locked and secured after closing. Upon return he saw the front door damaged and a window left opened. A large sum of cash was taken from the register. Crime scene investigators were notified to respond.

Officers responded to a report of an alarm. A store manager heard alarms going off in a part of his store. He saw a possible suspect who quickly fled. The manager was not able to determine if any merchandise was stolen at the time.
Suspect: African American, male, between the ages of 20-25, with black hair. LSW: Gray t-shirt, black pants, short hair, and a slender build.

An officer was approached by a man while at a store. The man’s nose was bleeding and asked for paramedics. The man also said he was on parole. A record check revealed the man had two arrest warrants. He was arrested for the warrants. Officers escorted the man to a hospital.

Robbery-Assault with Weapon

Officers responded to a hospital to meet a shooting victim. The victim waited at a MUNI stop when a suspect approached him and demanded his belongings. When the victim refused, the suspect shot him in the lower part of his body. The suspect fled in a getaway vehicle.
Suspect: Hispanic, male, about 6’0”, about 175 lbs., between the ages of 20-25. LSW: Black hoodie, black beanie, and a beard.
Suspect Vehicle: Blue SUV

Ocean Ave and Middlefield Dr
Officers responded to a report of a battery. A victim was walking to her mailbox when a suspect approached and assaulted her. The suspect then immediately fled.
Suspect: White, male, about 5’5”, about 140 lbs., between the ages of 20-30.   LSW: Black hoodie and dirty jeans with holes.

Officers responded to a report of a person with a knife. A victim was walking to his parked car when he briefly made eye contact with three occupants in an another parked car. One of them yelled at him and the other two occupants exited their vehicle. The two occupants approached the victim while he was sitting in his car. One of them took a sharp object and damaged the roof of the victim’s car. The suspect and the two other occupants then fled the scene in their vehicle.
Suspect #1: White, male, about 5’9”, about 130 lbs. LSW: Red hoodie with black design, black knit cap, and a small goatee.
Suspect #2: African American, male, about 5’10”, about 200 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. LSW: White shirt and light sweat pants.
Suspect #3: Asian, male.

Officers responded to a report of an activated alarm. An unknown suspect gained entry and damaged a store. The store manager responded to the scene and found nothing missing.

Officers responded to a report of vandalism to a vehicle. An unknown suspect broke a window to an unattended car. The victim, however, did not find anything taken.

Officers responded to an initial report of a burglary in progress. The victim was in her kitchen when someone rang her doorbell. She went to check and saw a possible suspect near a parked a car on the street. She returned to her kitchen. A moment later she heard a glass shatter and she called 911. Responding officers found a rock in the living room and its window shattered.
Suspect: Hispanic, male, about 5’10”, about 170 lbs., with brown hair. LSW: Light-blue dress shirt and black pants.

A woman walked into Taraval Station to report a fraud. An unknown suspect tried to open credit card accounts under her name. She did not give anyone permission to open an account in her name.

A man walked into Taraval Station to report a fraud. A debt collector contacted the man regarding an outstanding balance. The man found out an unknown suspect used his identity to open an account. The victim had not given anyone permission to do so.

An officer stopped a vehicle for impeding the flow of traffic. A record check revealed the driver did not have a license.
The driver was cited and released for the above violations.

Officers stopped a vehicle with an expired registration tab. The driver did not have a license on him. A record check also revealed the driver’s license was suspended. He was cited and released for the above violations.

Robbery with Weapon

An officer responded to a report of a robbery with a gun. Two suspects entered a store and walked around the inside. They blocked the store entrance and one of them pulled-out a gun. The gunman forced the store owner to open a cash register. The gunman took cash and fled with his accomplice in a getaway car.
Suspect #1: African American, male, about 5’6”, about 150 lbs., between the ages of 16-18, with black hair. LSW: Black hoodie, blue jeans, eyeglasses, clear gloves, and a handgun.
Suspect #2: African American, male, about 5’6”, about 130 lbs., between the ages of 16-18. LSW: Gray hoodie, blue jeans, blue and white surgical mask, and clear gloves.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. A victim left her home for a long-term travel. She left her residence in the care of a man known by one of her friends. When she returned, she saw some of her belongings missing. She believed the man who was suppose to watch her home was the suspect.
Suspect: Asian, male, about 5’7”, about 130 lbs., between the ages of 20-21, with black hair and brown eyes.

A man walked into Taraval Station to report a fraud. The man had contacted the IRS to find out why he did not receive his tax refund last year. The man found out an unknown suspect used his identity to receive the refund. The IRS is conducting their own investigation.

Officers responded to a report of an assault. Two people were in a fight and both had injuries. Paramedics responded and treated them at the scene. The primary aggressor was cited and released for assault.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary. A victim and his family were asleep. One of the family members woke-up and saw one of her belongings missing. The victim found an open window. The window had been closed earlier. A further search revealed the victim’s money was also missing. Officers determined an unknown suspect gained entry through the open window.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting. A suspect concealed merchandise items and exited without paying. Store security detained and placed the shoplifter under citizen’s arrest. Officers took custody of the suspect. The suspect was cited and released for shoplifting.

A woman walked into Taraval Station to report a fraud. The woman received numerous letters stating her attempts to open an account on behalf of a company were rejected. She did not give permission to anyone to use her identity nor did she attempt to open such accounts.
