On Thursday, October 24, 2013, San Francisco Police Officers went to West Portal Lutheran School (Sunset) for a “show and tell” with the kindergarten and First grade classes. Officer Matthew Hom organized this event with kindergarten teacher Michele Boyer. Officer Hom was assisted by Lt. Cornelius Johnson, Sgt. Kevin Mannix, Motorcycle Officers Jordan Hom and Mario Busalacchi, Honda Unit Officer Lewis Fong, Mounted Unit Sgt. Jennifer Duderoff, Joe Boyle, and Robert Toy along with their horses Quin, Fritz, and Bravehart. K-9 Officers Davin Cole and Bob Bymr with their dogs, Zigi and Dutch performed a spectacular demonstration for the students. This opportunity gave the students a chance to meet the officers and ask them questions about their job. The students were able to pet the dogs, horses, and take pictures on the motorcycles and police vehicles. I am sure this experience has left a positive outlook with everyone involved.
