On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the City Hall Police Commission Meeting, Taraval Police Station honored one of their favorite Sunset Merchant and supporter. SFPD Chief Greg Suhr, Captain Curtis Lum, City Assessor Carmen Chu, and Supervisor Katy Tang, presented lifelong Sunset resident Mr. Bill Barnickel, Certificates of Appreciation, thanking him for his support of Taraval Police Station Officers, and the Sunset District Community, where he works as a loan agent. Bill, a 29-year retired Air Force Sgt., was totally surprised at the meeting by SFPD Officers and Outer Sunset Merchants, who took him out to dinner after on Irving Street for his Birthday!
