Officers were on patrol when they heard a vehicle’s alarm in the area. The officers observed a Honda with it’s trunk open from the area where the alarm was sounding. Officers approached the vehicle and located the suspect sitting in the front seat of the vehicle. At first, the suspect told the officers that it was his vehicle. However, the officers pointed out all the broken window glass that was on the floor next to the suspect. The suspect confessed that the vehicle was not his and that he did not break into the vehicle; the window was already broken and he just got into the vehicle. A check on the suspect’s property revealed tools that are generally used to break into vehicles. Also in the suspect’s possession were items belonging to the victim of the vehicle. The suspect was arrested.
