Burglary – Probation Violation – Possession of Burglary Tools – Arrest

1900 Ocean Ave
Officers responded to a report of a person breaking into a restaurant. When officers arrived, they noticed the broken door and heard someone still inside the restaurant. The officers removed the suspect from the restaurant and arrested him. A computer check on the suspect revealed that he was on probation for burglary. When the officers continued their search of the restaurant, they located the suspect’s cell phone which was running application that transmitted police radio signals. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and a search revealed the victim’s property as well as numerous items commonly used to aid burglaries. The suspect was arrested.

Officers were in the area when they observed a vehicle with expired registration. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that she did not have a driver’s license. The driver was cited.

Robbery – Attempted
11:41 pm
Randolph St & Byxbee St
Officer responded to a call of a robbery. The victim said that the suspect came up from behind her, nudged her and caused her to fall on the ground. The suspect then tried to grab the victim’s cell phone, but failed. The victim got up and ran away.

Battery – Theft

Montana St & Capitol Ave
Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim said that he was involved in a vehicle collision. The victim excited the vehicle and was about to exchange information with the suspect but the suspect began to yelling at him. The suspect got back into his vehicle and started driving away. The victim said he followed the suspect and the suspect stopped his vehicle and confronted the victim before punching the victim. The victim said that he fought back and dropped his cell phone during the fight. The passenger of the suspect’s vehicle picked up the victim’s cell phone and ran to their vehicle. The suspect also got back into his vehicle and drove away.
