Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

A man came to Taraval Station to file a fraud report. The man was checking the balance to his credit card online and discovered unauthorized purchases on his statement. The man did not give anyone permission to use his credit card nor did he lose his credit card.

Burglary – Residence Under Construction – Forced Entry

An officer responded to the scene regarding a home burglary. Upon arriving at the scene the officer was met by the construction foreman who stated that he left the home secure. One of the foreman’s construction workers arrived at the home the next day and discovered that the front security gate had been pried open by an unknown suspect. Several tools were missing from the home.

An officer observed a vehicle that did not have a rear license plate and conducted a traffic stop. It was found that the driver did not have a driver’s license and could not provide proof of insurance. The woman was cited and the car was legally parked.

An officer observed a vehicle that had a brake light not functioning and effected a traffic stop. When asked for his driver’s license, he handed over a expired driver license. The man was cited for and released.

Theft of Checks

A man came to Taraval station to report a theft. The man stated he requested a withdrawal from his checking account from his bank. After waiting several weeks for the check to arrive the bank told the man that the check was mailed and cashed. The man never received or cashed the check.

300 Randolph Street

Officers on patrol in full uniform and driving a marked police vehicle were using the onboard computer and got a hit on a stolen vehicle. The officers conducted a computer query on the license plate and confirmed it was a stolen vehicle. The officers approached the vehicle and observed a woman lying in the back section of the vehicle. Two more officers arrived on the scene and conducted a transport search of the woman. The officer found shaved keys on a key ring and a shaved key on that ring started the vehicle that was reported stolen. Officers also found wire cutters in the woman’s purse and small tin containing methamphetamine. The woman was arrested and booked into Taraval station.

Battery with Serious Injury

Officers working in full police uniform and driving a marked patrol vehicle were dispatched to a bar regarding a battery. Upon arrival officers were met by a man that stated while he was socializing inside the bar the suspect came up to him and hit him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and cut his forehead. The suspect continued to hit him in the face.
Suspect: White male, 6’5”, 240 lbs, between the ages of 20 – 25 years old, blonde hair, last seen wearing: orange t-shirt, dark pants.

A woman came to Taraval Station to file a battery report. The woman stated she was waiting for a MUNI bus and as she was entering the bus an unknown suspect slapped her in the back of her head. The woman turned around and the suspect hit the woman 5 more times with closed fists.
Suspect: African American female, 5’3”, 200 lbs, between the ages of 22 – 25 years old, black hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing: hot pink backpack, blue jean jacket, afro style hair

An officer responded to a department store regarding a theft. Upon arriving at the scene the officer was met by an employee of the store. The employee stated at she saw two female suspects enter the store and look around. After they, left the woman and her co-workers thought the two female suspects were suspicious and they conducted an inventory of the store. The woman noticed that items of clothing were missing from the store and believes that the two female suspects took them but did not witness the theft.

Officers responded to the above location regarding a traffic collision with no injuries. A computer check revealed that one of the drivers’s had a suspended license. The victim signed a citizen’s arrest. The man was cited and his vehicle was towed.

A man came to Taraval Station to report lost property and fraud. The man stated the last time he has his wallet was the day before and upon returning home he discovered that he had lost his wallet. The man went to check his credit card accounts online and found that an unknown suspect made charges on all of his credit cards. The man did not give permission to anyone to make the purchases.

Officers working in full uniform and driving a marked police vehicle responded to the scene regarding a vehicle collision with no injuries. The officers made contact with one of the people involved in the vehicle collision. The officers asked for the man’s driver’s license and upon a records check it revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. The man was cited in violation of CVC 14601.

Robbery with Force

Officers responded to the scene regarding a battery. Upon arriving at the scene the officers were met by a man who stated he was robbed while walking down the street. The man was walking when 3 men jumped out of a bush and attacked the man. One suspect punched the man in the chin causing him to fall to the ground. While the man was on the ground the other two suspects rifled through his pants pockets and stole the man’s wallet.

Residential Burglary – Forced Entry

Officers were dispatched to the scene regarding a burglary report. Upon arrival the officers were met by a man who stated that he and his girlfriend rent the basement in-law unit of the house. The man and his girlfriend left the home in the morning locked but were unsure if he left the bedroom window completely locked. Upon returning home the man and his girlfriend discovered that items were missing from the home.

Officers responded to the scene regarding a stolen bicycle. Upon arrival the officers were met by a man who stated that he had parked his bicycle in the garage and later on in the evening he heard the front gate of the building slam. The man went downstairs to discover that his bike was stolen.

Officers observed a vehicle that had no illuminated tail lamps and an expired registration tab. The effected traffic stop and informed the driver the reason for the stop. A computer check revealed the driver did not have a license. He was cited and released for driving without a license and expired a registration tab.

A woman came to Taraval Station to report the theft of her cell phone. The woman stated she was at a wedding when she sent a text message and then put her cell phone down. The woman tried several times to call the cell phone with negative results.

An officer working in plain clothes capacity, as part of the Taraval Neighborhood Team along with two other officers were dispatched to the scene regarding a male suspect not allowing a MUNI coach to move. The man was punching the mirror and kicking the doors from the exterior of the coach. The man appeared to be in a altered mental state as he was talking to himself, and was unable to maintain focus when the officers asked him questions. After talking to the MUNI driver one of the officers noticed a round glass pipe consistent with a methamphetamine pipe and a clear plastic container with a clear liquid consistent with vodka. The officers asked the male suspect if it was his and he replied “yes”. The officers seized the meth pipe and vodka bottle and booked them into evidence at Taraval Station. The man was arrested and cited.

Robbery at ATM with Gun

Officers responded to an incident regarding a robbery. The victim was using an ATM machine, while an unknown suspect put a gun to his stomach, demanding his money and cell phone. The suspect entered a vehicle and drove southbound on 21st avenue and then westbound on Judah Street.

A man was walking home, while two unknown suspects walked in front of him. The suspect demanded for the victim to give up his belongings, pointing a silver revolver at him. The second suspect went through his jacket and pants. They stole his backpack, wallet and items inside the wallet and his cell phone.
Suspect 1: Age 16-19, Black male, 5’7”, 140 lbs, LSW: gray hooded sweatshirt with white lettering, “Aeropostale” and dark pants. He was holding a silver revolver o his right hand

Four unknown suspect entered a store and started concealing items into their bags. The manager asked them to stop, but the suspects did not cooperate. They left the store with over $2000.00 worth of merchandise.

An unknown suspect attempted to return merchandise but was denied by the cashier and exited the store. He then entered the store again, selected two items and attempted to return them. He was denied by the cashier. He then exited the store with the items without attempting to pay. A loss prevention officer identified himself and attempted to detain the suspect, but the suspect dropped the items and fled on foot.

An officer observed a man sitting down on the sidewalk. The officer noticed a bottle concealed in the man’s jacket, which was confirmed to be alcohol. The officer identified the man through previous Police contacts. A computer check revealed that the man had a number of outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was booked for his warrant and for being in possession of an open container of alcohol.

Officers were dispatched to the above location regarding an intoxicated male, who was causing a disturbance. The officers observed the man yelling at unknown victims walking by. A computer check revealed that the man had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

Fraud-Writing Check from a Closed Account

A man did some work on a house and received two checks for the job. He deposited the checks into his account and was notified that the checks did not clear. It is believed that the suspect intentionally wrote checks from a closed back account.
