Shoplifting – Cited

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, the officers met with the loss prevention agent of the store. The loss prevention agent stated that he witnessed the suspect put two of the store’s items into a green bag before exiting through the rear entrance of the store with the unpaid merchandise. The suspect was approached by the loss prevention agent outside the store and was taken back into the store for detention until the officers arrived. The officers investigated the incident and cited the suspect.

Theft from A Vehicle – Possession Of Stolen Property – Arrested

Taraval St and 21st Ave
Officers responded to a report of an auto break in incident. The victim stated that she was on her way back to her car, after eating breakfast with her niece, and noticed that her rear passenger door was wide open. Then, the victim saw the passenger door close and the suspect appeared. The victim approached the suspect and stated that he had her belongings; the suspect apologized and fled.  The victim saw the suspect enter the back seat of a black vehicle, which was being driven by a female.  The victim entered her vehicle, reported the incident to 911 and followed the suspect. An officer nearby observed a black vehicle as matching the description that was reported by the victim. The officer followed the black vehicle to where the vehicle parked and observed a female driving with and a male ducking and trying to hide in the back seat.  After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Officers were on patrol when they observed a suspicious pickup truck. A computer check on the pickup truck’s license plate revealed that it had last been registered in 2014. However, there was a valid 2017 registration sticker on it’s license plate. Officer conducted a traffic stop and after further investigation, the driver admitted that he knew the registration was expired but he did not put the sticker on. The driver was cited and his vehicle towed.
