Vehicle Violation – Suspended Driver’s License – Cited

Vicente St & 23rd Ave
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle failing to make a complete stop at a stop sign controlled intersection. Officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that his license had been suspended. The driver was also unable to provide proof of insurance. The driver was cited.

Driving while under the Influence of Alcohol – Arrested

Ocean Ave & Granada Ave
Officers responded to a report of a possible drunk driver. Officers arrived and observed a vehicle that had struck a parked vehicle. The driver was standing next to the vehicle and was swaying back and forth. The driver was also observed with blood shot eyes, slurred speech and several obvious signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Officers attempted to asked preliminary questions to the driver, but he failed to respond and even attempted to walk away. Witness told the officers that she saw the driver hit a parked vehicle before driving off.  The driver then hit a second vehicle and  finally stopped stopped. As the driver still refused to cooperate. A warrant was obtained and the driver’s blood was taken and the driver arrested.

Robbery

Officers responded to a report of a robbery. Officers spoke at length to the victims, who worked at the establishment. One victim said that he went outside to throw out the trash when two suspects forced their way into the back area of the bar. One of the suspects was observed holding a gun and the other had a gun in his waistband. The suspects help themselves to some alcohol before taking the victims to the basement and tying them up. The suspects  then pried the safe out of the wall and took it with them as they fled the establishment.

Battery

Portola Dr & Kensington Way
Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim told the officers that she went out drinking and requested an Uber Pool to drive her home. The victim said that when she got into the vehicle there was already another passenger inside. During the ride, the victim said that she threw up and that she may have gotten some on the other passenger. The passenger got angry, punched her on her face and pushed her out of the vehicle. The victim also lost her cell phone during the incident.
