Assault – Arrested

200 Orizaba Ave
Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a large knife. Officers arrived on scene and observed a victim bleeding from the side of his neck and a suspect holding a machete. The officers immediately ordered the suspect to drop the weapon while the suspect spontaneously told the officers that he had cut the victim. The victim also verified that the suspect as the one who had cut him. The victim was transported to a hospital with an officer escort and was treated for a non life threatening injury. When medical staff deemed it acceptable for the officer to conduct an interview with the victim, the victim refused to provide any further information about the incident.

The suspect reported to the officers that he was inside the store stocking items when he received a phone call from an unknown number. Shortly after that, he heard some noises from outside at the iron gate. The suspect opened the door and saw the victim and they starting having an argument before the victim threatened to retrieve a gun from his vehicle. The suspect said that the victim walked to his vehicle and then walked back to the gate with his hands behind his back. The suspect, fearful that the victim did have a gun, grabbed his own weapon and struck the victim. The suspect told the officers that once he realized that he had cut the victim, he walked away from him and waited for the police. A search did not reveal a gun at the location and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Chile neglect – Under the influence in a Public Place – Arrested

Officers responded to a report by a citizen concerned about a woman, who appeared to be under the influence, with a young child in her care. An officer arrived on scene and located the suspect and child aboard a bus. As the officer approached the suspect, they observed that the suspect exhibited several symptoms of alcoholic intoxication; the suspect’s eye lids appeared droopy and she appeared unaware and uninterested in her surroundings. As the suspect exited the bus, the officer noticed she was unsteady on her feet. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to the officer that she had been drinking and that the suspect was babysitting her niece. The officer also learned that the suspect was cited in January for committing the same offense. The suspect was arrested and the child was taken to child protective services.

Battery

100 Sadowa St
Officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute. The victim told the officer that she and the suspect were having an argument over the biological father of their child. The victim grabbed the child to leave the house but this prompted the suspect to also grab the child from the victim’s hand and pushed the victim on to the ground. A witness at the scene convinced the suspect to leave the child with the victim and suspect then fled the location.

Trespassing – Warrant Arrest – Arrested

1200 Great Highway
Officers responded to a 911 hang up call. Officers arrived on scene and located the caller. The caller told the officer that two males broke into the restaurant by unscrewing the hinge on the door. Officer entered the property and located two suspects. A computer check on the suspects revealed that one of them had a warrant for his arrested.  The owner of the property requested to press charges; one of the suspects was cited for trespassing and the second suspect was arrested for trespassing and warrant.

Warrant Arrest – Under the Influence – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a drunken person in the area. Responding officers located the suspect lying on the ground observed the suspect exhibiting multiple symptoms of alcoholic intoxication. A computer check on the suspect revealed that he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested.

Robbery
5:33 pm
1700 Ocean Ave
Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The witness, a store employee, told the officers that she observed the suspect enter and walk around store like a normal shopper but then noticed that the suspect placed  multiple items taken from the shelves into his backpack. The witness approached the suspect and attempted to retain the property but the suspect threatened the witness to bodily harm if she doesn’t leave him alone. The suspect then fled the store.

Vehicle Violation – Expired Driver’s License – Cited

Noriega St & 28th Ave
Officers observed a vehicle that had failed to stop at a stop sign. Officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the driver revealed that his license had been expired. The driver was cited.

Public Nuisance – Cited

1300 12th Ave
An officer responded to a report of a known homeless female causing a nuisance in the area. Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect and observed that the suspect had all her belongings scattered about her with a strong odor of urine and feces emanating from the gutter behind the suspect. Officers noted that the suspect had a several year history of  camping in front of business and residence and causing the same issues. It was recorded that the Homeless Outreach Team had been working with the suspect to get her off the street and into housing but without success as the suspect refused all help and options that were offered. The suspect was cited on the incident and forwarded to the district attorney’s office for a stay away order from the area.
