Attempted Robbery in the Street with a Gun

00 Castelo Avenue and Gonzalez Drive

Officers responded to the scene regarding a report of someone brandishing a firearm. Upon arriving at the scene the officers were met by a man who stated that he was approached by two male suspects who pulled a gun on him. The two suspects demanded that the man give up all his belongings. The man attempted to run away and the suspects kicked him from behind. The suspects got into a vehicle and fled the scene.

Robbery

00 Tara Street and Niagara Avenue

Officers responded to the scene regarding a person who was robbed. Upon their arrival the officers were met by a woman who stated that while she was walking, she felt the presence of someone walking behind her. When she looked over her shoulder she noticed two unknown males behind her. The woman crossed the street and the two males ran in front her stopping her on the corner. The two unknown males demanded her belongings. The suspects fled north.

Suspect 2: African American Male, 5’6”, 145 lbs, between the ages of 19 – 25 years old, black hair, last seen wearing: black beanie cap, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans.

Aggravated Assault with Weapon – Arrest

00 39th Avenue and Santiago Street

An officer in full uniform and driving a marked patrol vehicle was dispatched to the scene regarding a report of an assault. Upon arrival the officer made contact with the man who called 911 and noticed that his left ear was bleeding. The man stated that he was driving and noticed an unknown male suspect attempting to tell him something but was unable to understand him. The suspect proceeded to cut off the man and chase him down the street. The man pulled over and got out of his car and the suspect also did the same. The suspect went to the trunk of his car and pulled out an aluminum baseball bat and hit the man on the head. The suspect got back into his vehicle and fled the scene. The man was able to get the license plate and the officers contacted headquarters to run a vehicle check on the license plate. The officers were able to find the suspect and arrested and booked him.

A woman came to Taraval Station with her two sons to report a theft. The woman stated that her sons were at the recreation center and the boys set their backpacks down on the bleachers in the gym. Upon returning to their belongings after playing basketball they discovered their backpacks and all its belongings were gone.

Driving with a Suspended License – Cited

1000 San Gabriel Circle

An officer in full uniform and in a marked patrol vehicle noticed a vehicle with expired registration. The officer effected a traffic stop and the officer performed a computer query and it revealed that the driver had a suspended or revoked license. The driver was cited for expired registration and driving on a suspended license.

A man came to Taraval Station to report that his wallet was stolen. The man went to play basketball and placed his wallet down on the ground near the court he was playing at. When the man went to retrieve his wallet, it was gone.

Robbery In The Street With A Gun – Arrest
3:30 am
1000 Holloway Avenue

Officers responded to the scene regarding a report of a robbery with a gun. The man and woman stated that as they were walking home, two unknown male suspects came up from behind them and started yelling at the woman to give up her purse. The woman fought with one of the suspects and looked over and saw the other suspect had a gun drawn on the man. The woman let go of her purse and the suspects fled to a vehicle headed west bound. Another officer located the suspect’s vehicle and several occupants matching the description provided by the man and woman. The officer affected a traffic stop on the vehicle at a gas station and several other officers came to help detain the people in the car. The officer approached the front passenger door and observed a gun under the front passenger seat. The officers conducted a cold show of the five suspects and the suspects were confirmed to be the ones that robbed the man and woman. The suspects were arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

Theft – Shoplifting – Arrest

700 Taraval Street

Two officers responded to the scene to search for possible suspects involved in a report theft from a supermarket. Another responding unit arrived to the scene and made a radio broadcast that he observed four possible female suspects. The officer was able to detain two of the female suspects. The officers responded to the area and were able to detain the other two suspects. Another responding unit was able to talk to the store manager and he stated that three female suspects were trying to take bags of items out of the store without attempting to pay for them. The officers conducted a cold show of the suspects with the store manager and he confirmed that the suspects that were detained were the ones who shoplifted from the supermarket. The four female suspects were arrested and booked at Taraval Station.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2013

Burglary, Hot Prowl, Forcible Entry, Warrant – Arrest

2000 10th Avenue

Officers responded to a call of a burglary. The resident heard noises coming from the front gate of his residence and looked out his window to find a man he did not know going through his sisters belongings. The male was in possession of a crowbar and other metal tools believed to be used to break the front gate and gain access to the residence. The resident confronted the suspect who then fled the scene. The resident and his father followed the suspect but lost sight the suspect. Several other units arrived and scanned the area for the described suspect. The suspect was detained on a MUNI bus by SFPD and brought back to the scene where he was positively identified by the residents. A computer check indicated the suspect had an outstanding warrant and thus was consequently taken and booked at Taraval Station.

A woman came to the Taraval Station to make a report regarding a theft. The woman stated that she had gone out to dinner and placed her purse and jacket on the back of her chair. An unknown suspect came into the restaurant to use the bathroom and had an altercation with the restaurant staff. Upon leaving, the suspect knocked her jacket off her chair. When she went to pay for dinner, she realized her purse was missing. The woman cancelled her credit cards and was informed by the bank that the suspect had already used her card to make several costly purchases.

An officer observed a vehicle drive past him that had the driver’s door window tinted too dark. The officer affected a stop regarding the tint of the window too dark. A computer check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was cited.

Malicious Mischief – Vandalism To Vehicle

A man came to Taraval Station to report that someone had vandalized his vehicle. The man parked his vehicle near his home and locked and secured it. Upon returning to the vehicle in the morning the man discovered that an unknown suspect had smashed his rear window and made key-like scratches on the hood, roof, right front and rear passenger doors and right rear passenger door.

An officer observed a vehicle that was driving with a door tint that was too dark in violation of VC 26708.5. The officer stopped the vehicle and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The officer performed a computer query and it revealed that the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2013

Attempted Robbery With Force – Arrest

Officers responded to the scene regarding an attempted robbery. Upon arriving at the scene the officers were met by a woman who stated that she observed a man enter the establishment. The man asked for a glass of water and as the woman was getting the glass of water, she observed the man put his hands into the tip jar and attempt to grab the money out of it. The woman told the man to leave and the man began to become aggressive and yell incoherently. The man let go of the tip jar and attempted to take the cash register but was unable too because of the weight. The man fled towards a gas station in the area. The officer went to the gas station and located the man who matched the suspect description. The officer detained the man and he was booked at Taraval Station.

Residential Burglary

1300 28th Avenue

Officers responded to the above location regarding a burglary report. An unknown suspect entered a home and stole a purse that contained a wallet, credit cards and an ID. The suspect also stole US currency and checks. The victim was notified by the bank that two checks were used to withdraw money from her account. The garage door was determined to be the possible entry and exit of the suspect.

An officer observed a vehicle make a left turn where there are three no left turn signs posted. The officer affected a traffic stop and advised the driver what he had done illegally. A computer check revealed that the driver has a suspended license. He was cited and released.

An officer observed a vehicle with an expired registration tab. The officer affected a stop and advised the drive the reason for the stop. The driver did not have a valid driver license. He was identified by his Mexican ID card. The vehicle was left parked legally and the driver was cited and released.

Shoplifting–Cited

1700 Ocean Avenue

A loss prevention agent observed a man walking from one aisle to another until there were no shoppers in the aisle he was in. The suspected concealed items into his pockets and passed all open registers without making an attempt to pay. The loss prevention agent escorted the man back to the store and called the police. The agent retrieved the stolen items and signed a citizen’s arrest form against him. Officers took custody of the man and cited and released him for shoplifting.

Officers were dispatched to the above location regarding a fight. They observed a man running in the streets posing a hazard to him and motorists in the area. An officer asked the man to stop, which the man complied. A strong smell of alcoholic beverage odor was on his clothes and breathes. He was placed in handcuffs. Officers observed the man’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. They called an ambulance to have him checked out and he was treated in the emergency room.

A woman received a text message stating there is a government program giving grants to single parents. The victim provided the suspect with information and gave thousands of dollars via Western Union and Money Gram as instructed to receive the grant. She received another texts asking to send in $2000.00 more, but she became suspicious so she filed a police report.

A woman came to Taraval Station to report she has been a victim of fraud. An unknown suspect used the victim’s information to open two credit card accounts and spent over $4000.00 on them. The suspect also wrote a check totaling over $100.00 worth of merchandise.
