Driving While Under the Influence – Traffic Violation – Arrested

Officers were on patrol and observed a vehicle, with damages to the rear of the vehicle, that was parked partly on top of the sidewalk. Despite the vehicle still running, the driver exited the car and started walking towards the officers. The driver stated that he was driving to a friend’s house but had gotten lost. At one point, the driver was distracted and looked down and struck another vehicle.  While speaking with the officers, it was observed that the driver exhibited watery, bloodshot eyes and there was a the odor of a strong alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. A witness reported that she was inside her house when she heard a crash and looked out to see that her vehicle had been damaged by the driver. Officers conducted a field sobriety test, which the driver failed. After failing several more sobriety tests, the driver was arrested.

Officers responded to a location regarding a possible road rage incident. The victim had called 911 regarding a suspect driving erratically into a gas station and then yelling at people inside the gas station. Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle and suspect. The suspect had taken several items out of his vehicle and was in the process of getting it vacuumed. The officers asked the suspect if he was involved in an altercation and were told that the suspect was in a disagreement with someone earlier, but the other party had already driven away. While speaking to the suspect, the officer smelled the distinct odor of unburnt marijuana emanating from the suspect’s person and from the vehicle. When questioned, the suspect admitted to having marijuana inside his vehicle. However, when officers opened the door, they  located a clear plastic baggie with what appeared to be cocaine and multiple pills and a loaded firearm. The officers contacted the narcotics unit and obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s house. The officers executed the search warrant and located additional narcotic and ammunition at the suspect’s house. The suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a suspect breaking in. The witness reported that he was jogging when he saw a suspect trying to break into a vehicle. Responding officers located the suspect and were told that the suspect’s friend had lent him the vehicle, but the keys were stolen. The suspect also said that he had his property inside the vehicle. A computer check on the vehicle revealed that it had been stolen. Officers contacted the victim of the vehicle who responded that the suspect had been his roommate and he had stolen the keys. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.
