Firearm Discharge – Cited

Officers responded to a report of a possible explosive; the caller reported that he saw a hole in the ceiling and saw something coming down from the ceiling afterwards. Officers made contact with the upstairs neighbor, the suspect, who admitted to accidentally discharging a round from his firearm while trying to clean it. The suspect reported that he mistakenly thought that the chamber was empty and had taken the magazine out before racking the firearm a few times, which caused it to discharge.  The suspect was cited.

False Registration of a Vehicle – Cited

Sloat Blvd & 37th Ave
Officers were on patrol when a vehicle passed them at an unsafe speed. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check on the vehicle revealed that the vehicle’s registration had expired despite having a current registration sticker displayed on the license plate. The driver told the officers that she did not have the money to correct the vehicle’s exhausted problem and therefor was unable to keep the vehicle’s registration current. The driver was cited.

Shoplifting – warrant Arrest – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained. Loss prevention told the officers that he observed the suspect select an item, crouch down on one knee to wrap the item in a sweater and placing both into her bag.  A computer check on the suspect revealed that she had a warrant for her arrested. The suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery with a firearm. The victim reported that he was leaving the apartment building with his friend’s backpack when two suspects approached him with a gun and demanded his property. Fearful, the victim gave the suspect his property and the suspects immediately fled the location in a vehicle.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery. The victim reported that she was walking home when the suspect hit her on the head with an unknown item and stole her purse.

Driving While Influence – Injuries to Child – Arrested

19th Ave & Sloat Blvd
Officers responded to a report of a hit and run incident. A witness reported to responding officers that they saw the suspect and vehicle parked on 20th Ave. Officers located the driver and vehicle and observed the driver to be intoxicated after speaking with her. The driver’s 12 year old daughter, who was also was in the vehicle, also reported to the officers that her mother was driving while intoxicated. Officers conducted an investigation and administered a field sobriety test. After further investigation, the driver provided a sample of her blood and she was arrested.
