Traffic Violation – Cited

Noriega St & 22nd Ave
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle which failed to completely stop at a stop sign. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle which revealed that the license plates were assigned to another vehicle and the registration was expired. The driver reported that his company purchased the car in 2015 and  he was unaware that the license plates displayed on his vehicle belonged to a different vehicle. Officers cited the driver for failure to stop at a posted stop sign and for displaying a vehicle license plate not issued for the vehicle.

Randolph St & Arch St
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle reduce it’s speed while approaching the limit line but failing to stop while crossing over the line. Officers also noted that the brake light on the driver’s side was not functioning as well.  Officers conducted a traffic stop but the suspect was unable to provide a California Driver’s license. A records check revealed the suspect’s drivers license status was suspended or revoked. Officers cited the suspect.

19th Ave & Sloat Blvd
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle traveling at approximately 50 mph. Officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver admitted to officers that he was traveling at 50-60 mph and that his license was suspended for failing to appear for a cracked window. The driver was cited for driving on a suspended license and driving over the speed limit.

Randolph St & Arch St
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle failing to completely stop at a stop sign and proceed to through it at  approximately 7 mph instead. Officers followed the vehicle, which was traveling at approximately 30-35 mph through a 25 mph limit zone. Officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle and were told that he was in a hurry to get to his mom’s place and he did not have a driver’s license. A records check revealed the driver’s license status was suspended or revoked. Officers cited the driver and his car was towed.

Battery

24th Ave & Rivera St
Officers were assigned as school resource officers and responded to a school on the report of a possible battery between a student and a teacher. Upon arrival, officers met with the Dean and the math teacher. The teacher stated the student left her class to take a walk and upon returning, the student demanded to speak with the teacher. The teacher agreed and they spoke in the hallway where the student explained she was not learning anything in class and demanded a paraprofessional. The teacher responded that she was not in charge of assigning paraprofessionals, which angered the student. The student then loudly said “Why are you being mean to me!” and shoved the teacher on her shoulder. The teacher declined to press charges but wanted to document the incident.

Elder Abuse

1100 Pacheco St
Officers responded to a report regarding an out of control juvenile. Upon arrival, officers met with the suspect’s grandfather and grandmother. They stated they got into an argument with the suspect about missing school and the suspect began to shout obscenities at them before running away. Officers search for the suspect but were met with negative results.

Dog Bite
10:15 am
Irving St & 27th Ave
Officers responded to a report regarding a dog bite. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated she was out walking with her husband when they approached a man who was also walking two leashed dogs. The victim stated the two dogs began barking at her and her husband as they walked by and one of the dogs jumped forward and bit the victim on her left forearm. The dog’s owner apologized and went home to put away the dogs with the victim following him. The victim and her husband followed the man home where the man went into his house before coming back a few moments later to provide the victim with a band aid for her cut. The victim stated she reported this incident because she wanted it documented. Officers attempted to make contact at the suspect’s house but there was no answer.
