Assault – Brandishing

Officers responded to a report of an assault. Responding officers spoke to the victim who reported that he accidentally bumped into the suspect while at the gym. This caused the suspect to get angry and call the victim names. The victim pushed the suspect away and attempted to walk away but the suspect followed him while still calling him names. At one point, the suspect reached into his backpack and took out a knife and continued to follow the victim. The suspect responded that the victim had first come up to him and started mocking him before bumping into him when he tried to leave. The suspect admitted to getting mad and that he took out his knife in an attempt to scare the victim.

The suspect was detained; inspectors and officers obtained a searched warrant and found the knife that was used in the assault. The suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a report of threats. The victim, a store clerk, told responding officers that the suspect entered the store and selected several items and made no attempt to pay for the merchandise before exiting the store. The victim attempted to detain the suspect, but the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened the victim with it before fleeing. 

Battery – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident. Responding officers spoke to the victim who reported that the suspect was drinking at their residence earlier with friends. The suspect fell asleep afterwards but was woken up by a baby’s crying which caused an angry verbal argument. The suspect walked towards the baby’s bedroom but the victim, fearful of his intentions, attempted to enter the bedroom first. The suspect grabbed the victim by her arm and hair to push her away and entered the room first. The victim stated that the suspect picked the baby up gently and rocked her back to sleep before walking out to the garage and waited for the police. However, the suspect refused to provide a statement when questioned. The suspect was arrested.
