Assault – Arrested

Irving St & 21st Ave
Officers responded to a report regarding a call of a homeless person threating someone with a knife. Responding officers arrived and spoke to the victim, who directed the officers towards the suspect who was laying on the sidewalk. The victim reported that suspect confronted him and threatened to kill him if he stayed on the block. The suspect then swung the knife at the victim and the victim had to dodge to prevent injury. Officers detained the suspect and a search located a knife near the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Vehicle Tampering – Arrested

Officers responded to a report regarding a vehicle burglary in progress. Responding officers spoke to the victim, who stated that he observed the suspect inside his vehicle and confronted the suspect. The suspect immediately exited the vehicle and tried to flee but was detained by the victim’s uncle. The victim admitted that he may have left the vehicle unlocked and did not believe that there were any damages or missing items after the incident. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Granada Ave & Ocean Ave
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle fail to stop at a posted stop sign. Officers conducted a traffic stop  and a records check on the driver revealed the driver’s license had expired. The driver was cited.

Burglary – Arrested
4:15 pm
3200 20th Ave
Officers responded to a report regarding a burglary. Responding officers spoke to the the witness, a loss prevention agent, who stated that he observed two suspects place store merchandise into their bag and leave without paying. The witness made contact and detained one of the suspect while the second dropped the bag of merchandise and fled. After further investigation, the first suspect was arrested.

Suspended License – Speeding – Cited

19th Ave & Denslowe Dr
Officers were on patrol when they observe a vehicle traveling at 52 MPH at a posted 35 MPH speed limit. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver. The driver stated she did not have her license but provided officers with her license number. A computer check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was cited.

Firearm Possession – Traffic Violation – Arrested

Holloway Ave & Faxon Ave
Officers were on patrol when they observe a person riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. Officers verbally instructed the suspect to stop and get off his bicycle. The suspect disobeyed the order and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the suspect and observed the suspect throwing a dark object away, which was recognized as a black pistol. Officers attempted to detained the suspect, who was uncooperative and actively resisted the officers. Due to of the potential of additional weapons and danger, the officers used physical force to arrest the suspect. An arrest search of the suspect revealed several credit and ID cards that were under different names as well as suspected narcotics. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
