Shoplifting – Cited

Officers responded to a report regarding a shoplifter, who was already in custody. The witness, a loss prevention agent, reported that the suspect was observed selecting multiple items of merchandise from several different sections of the store and placing them into a brown bag that was inside a store’s shopping basket. The witness made contact with the suspect while in the parking lot after the suspect was observed entering the elevator without purchasing any of the items. When questioned, the suspect admitted to stealing the items. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.

Officers responded to a report regarding a shoplifter who was already in custody. The witness, a loss prevention agent, reported that the suspect was observed walking around the store and placing items of merchandise into his backpack. The suspect was then observed to leave the store without paying for any of the items. The witness confronted the suspect and detained him until police arrived. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.

Traffic Violation – Cited

Santa Clara Ave & San Anselmo Ave
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle being driven while the driver was using his cell phone. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. When asked for his driver’s license, the driver stated he did not have one. A computer check revealed a suspension on the driver’s license. The driver was cited and his vehicle was left legally parked.

Assault

Officers responded to a report regarding an incident of battery. The victim reported that the suspect walked into his work and assaulted him. The victim stated that the suspect had choked him and held a pair of scissors against him. Responding officers were unsuccessful in locating the suspect at his workplace or residence. 

Restraining order

2600 19th Ave
Officers responded to a report of a restraining order violation. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who stated that a known suspect, with a restraining order from the local facility, was pacing around the facility’s passenger loading area and confronting the parents and kids who were being dropped off. A records check confirmed the restraining order from the facility. However, when the officers searched the area, the were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

Elder Abuse – Arrested

Officers responded to a report regarding a family dispute. The victim, the mother of the suspect, reported that she was watching her grandson play with his toys when the suspect pushed her shoulder with his hand and swore at her. The victim stated the suspect had picked up her grandson and she was afraid for her grandson because the suspect was intoxicated. Officers arrested the suspect for abuse.

Battery

1000 Taraval St
Officers responded to a report regarding a physical fight. Responding officers were unable to locate the dispute but observed a suspect who had a known history of causing disturbances. The victim reported that he had asked the suspect to leave the premises multiple times due to the erratic behavior the suspect was exhibiting, which was scaring his other customers. The victim stated he asked the suspect to leave the area one last time and grabbed at the plastic pipe that the suspect was holding on to. The suspect swung the pipe and struck the victim on the leg. The victim was uninjured and able to obtain the pipe and bring it into his shop. Officers advised the suspect that his harassing behavior could lead to further restraining orders.

Officers responded to a report regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who stated the suspect was arrested previously for domestic violence and had a restraining order against him. Officers located the suspect and arrested him.
