Robbery

Ashton Ave & De Montfort Ave
Officers responded to a report regarding a robbery. The victim reported that he was walking on the sidewalk when two suspects suddenly approached him from behind. The victim stated that the suspects pushed him towards the wall of a nearby house and searched him. Fearful, the victim offered to give the suspects money if they would release him. The victim stated that he gave the suspects $500 before they fled in an unknown direction. 

Assault

24th Ave & Rivera St
Officers responded to a report regarding an assault. The victim reported that he heard a loud commotion from the school’s bathroom, which turned out to be two students about to start a fight. The victim stated that he tried to intervene but was pushed in the chest by one of the students. The incident is currently being investigated by the school and the conflict will be handled internally. 

 

Trespassing

18th Ave & Irving
Officers responded to a report of a violation of restraining order. The victim stated that she was unable to obtain a restraining order against the suspect, her son, due to a recent surgery. The victim reported that the suspect had entered her home, uninvited, in an attempt to receive money from her. Officers attempted to obtain a restraining order on behalf of the victim but were unsuccessful. The victim was instructed to obtain a retraining order against the suspect as soon as she was able to. 

 

Concealed Weapon – Arrested

34th Ave & Sloat Blvd
Officers were on patrol when they observe a person who resembled a suspect that was reported to have committed a 1st degree burglary, during a previous incident. Officers detained the suspect immediately and observed a sheath containing a knife which was sticking out of the suspect’s shirt. Officers conducted an arrest search and seized another knife, a laptop, several loose checks, multiple bank cards and needles. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Shoplifting – Arrested

Officers responded to a report regarding a detained suspect at a department store. The witness, a loss prevention agent, reported that the suspect was observed removing multiple items off of merchandise racks and concealing them inside a bag. The witness confronted the suspect and detained him without incident. Responding officers conducted a records check, which revealed that the suspect was on probation. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested. 

Violation of Restraining Order – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of threats. The victim reported that the suspect, her son, was supposed to check into rehab but instead arrived at her house in an attempt to delay his treatment. The victim stated that her son was speaking nonsense about people, including herself, wanting to kill him. Officers confirmed a restraining order against the suspect and placed him under arrest.
