Shoplifting – Probation Violation – Possession of Burglary Tool – Arrested

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter. The witness, a loss prevention employee, reported that the suspect entered the store with a duffle bag. The suspect was then observed selecting multiple items of merchandise and placing them into the duffle bag before exiting the store without paying. The witness confronted and detained the suspect without incident. Responding officers conducted a search which revealed a cache of tools commonly used to defeat security sensors and a methamphetamine pipe containing a black tar residue. A computer check revealed that the suspect was on probation. The suspect was arrested.
